Went for a bike ride - yippee!!
First update in my journal for a while. Today rocks. It's a nice holiday. I went outside this morning to get the mail (from Saturday) and noticed how pleasant it was outside. Turned to the hubby and said "let's go for a bike ride!" so we took our bikes for the first time in a yr and a half (maybe 2 yrs?) down the street. It rocked. The hubby blew up my tires and it was aaaaaawwwwwesome. I think the last time we went out I was very slow and didn't enjoy it much. Now I wonder if maybe my tires weren't a little flat?!?
Because I was so fast today and did so well. It's been 3 yrs since my first injury which has lead to years of problems with my back...which makes so much more sense now that I have been diagnosed with endo. Before, I was so worried to be out and about because I was afraid my herniated disc would get worse. Now I know, the back pain comes from my endo as much as anything else.
It feels so liberating to know that I'm going to be ok.
Oh, I should also mention that I still have pains. My hands are tingling, my right side is sore and aching. But my sports psychologist has helped. He said "do you feel well today?" "yes" "do you believe you will be injured today by a short bike ride?" "no" "well then, go forth. You may have small set backs, but that cannot deture you from life."
I'm with him...I'm living life to the fullest. Happy Monday everyone.
