Well, not fired yet, lol

I had a much better week this week... in fact, on Thursday, I actually thought that I was going to have my first day of not getting yelled at.  And immediately got yelled at, lol. I was in the process of moving dogs around, was about to get control of one who has major jumping up issues and just as I was, she came in and yelled across the yard to me about the dog jumping.  I immediately lost focus, and the dog tore my clothes, and then she began to yell that if I wasn't going to be the alpha dog in the pack it wasn't going to work.  Because patience isn't my strong suit, my mind was yelling back that I was until she came in, lol, but luckily my mouth has been under control so I was silent.   I have to admit, she is one of the toughest bosses I've ever had, and yet the one I'm learning the most from.  And that dog... since the boss has been away for 2 days, I've gotten the dog to sit for attention when I come into the yard now.   Hopefully the boss will be pleased come next Thursday when I work again.
And the positive side... one of my coworkers informed me that I was doing very well - she said that the boss has never fired anyone and instead figures that if we're willing to stick it out, we're worth keeping around, and then she went on to tell me how often she got yelled at in the beginning too.
I'm feeling a bit old this week... I put my back out Wednesday from over-exercise, luckily was still able to work Thursday, and just have a slight ache today.  But my feet quit hurting, which is great news!  Now, all I have to do is figure out how to supplement the rest of my income since I'm now short my house payment every month.
Oh, and something happened to the house I wanted to buy - It's off the market.   So I'm back into limbo land and working more on patience as I go forward watching that place or looking for something new.  LATER!

I don\'t like managers who play these kinds of games with staff. It is so unnecessary and just reflects the manager\'s own incompetency and insecurities. I manage a team of 120 persons. I have experienced \'\'management by terror\'\' and I refuse. I use other means to gain cooperation of my team. Those who do not respond and improve behaviour get poor performance reviews which affects their merit increase. However, I stay on people\'s responsibilities and expect high performance.

Hang in there! Chin up!

Thank you Karen! I can see too that it\'s all based on insecurities - on the positive side though, she began opening up to me on a personal level a bit, so that is progress! Every day is a challenge - one I\'m definitely up for!

I\'m so happy for you. i know a lot of things are tough, back ache, short on finances... etc. BUT I also know how much you love this type of work and dogs!

Keep walking towards your dreams even if it includes some yelling and an achey back. You always have so much energy.

And good job about being level headed about online dating. :)
