Well, I\'ve been waiting and waiting...

It took them 3 days, both removing the snow and drilling the well. They had to drill down 320 feet, apparently, but the well is in place and waiting for the hookup to the house. I got a check for the first 75% of the estimated cost, and it was deposited in the bank, and has already cleared. Apparently, I have to wait until Monday for them to schedule  the hookup, but at least the well is in place, nearer to the house than it was, and ready for us to use. Apparently, at 320 feet down they have to have, by state minimum requirements, 1 gallon per minute, and they have got 2 gallons per minute. I have to assume that this is good, not having expertise in the subject, and that this will mean that I have a good potential for decent water pressure. The pressure in the kitchen and bathroom sink were fine before the DISASTER, but the shower and washer were really slow - a result of having improper pvc style feed pipes, which were the first ones to burst. I'm relieved that the work has progressed, but I still cannot take a shower. I have to use buckets and pans in the shower, but it does work. I've purchased my cat litter in these plastic containers - I have 3 in use now, and have been using them to both fill up the washing machine so that I can do laundry, and flushing the toilet. It all works, sort of, but it really is alot of hard work hauling these buckets around. I'm going to need to do a great deal of serious cleaning after all the work is done - so I'll be quite happy to just turn on the tap to get the water i need for this. In the meantime, the bucket brigade is in full flow, so ttfn.
