Well, at least I am not crazy
Well, after waking up two mornings in tears from the pain, my hiusband pushed me into going to see someone. After the mess with my knee and my shoulder I wasn't sure how helpful it would be. The othropedist told me about the knee "I don't know what is wrong with you and I can't help you" and the regular doc told me about the shoulder "well, you'll just have to learn to live with it. It isn't going to get better" - you can see how I had given up hope. I had tried to call and get an appointment yesterday but was unsuccessful. So I called again this morning on the way into BAMC with the idea that if I didn't get an appointment I would go to the ER. They had an early morning appointment and I was actually even seen before 8AM. The nurse practitioner that I saw strongly suspects fibromylagia (my suspicision as well). Since his wife has it as well, he isn't afraid to look there. I was sent for the arthritis blood work to rule that out. Other than that, he has gone ahead and started the protocol for treatment - tramadol and trazadone. He also advised that I continue with the calcium that I had been taking. Physical treaments advised was walking a half mile a day 4-5 days a week and make sure I continue with a hot bath. The tramadol made me pretty nauseous there for a while an I hope that goes away because once that abated a bit I felt a lot better.
