weirdness of life

Although I am quite secure in my decision to completely separate emotionally from my husband, and feel a weight lifted from my shoulders, it still has a weirdness to it. Probably since we live in the same house, and because he is probably in big time denial about what my feelings are. In the several weeks since I put my foot down about the alcohol relapse, he seemed to have gotten his act together and is attending meetings and therapy approx four times a week. yeah, so what.... if he remains true to his history the momentum will lose its forward thrust as soon as he thinks he is back in good graces.  I am already going in the opposite direction.  I am busy each evening after work, have created my own space and do not trust him at all. In fact, although I love him, I no longer really like him. He has lost something vital, he does not even have the capacity to walk the dog effectively, he spackled a wall: i had to re do it, he touched up the paint... so the wrong color, and he is SOBER????? This morning as I was leaving for work I felt myself ever so slightly backsliding into that hyper vigilant state....and then realized NOPE not my problem. So I continue to make fun plans! (not tonight lol I have to go to traffic court :( going too fast in school zone on my way to work while planning my strategy re:AH) but tomorrow a drumming circle and meditation. Thursday; hair Friday; girls night.A friend coming into town for the weekend and next week filling up too.
My puppy has been waking me up very early , 4:30 ish but ya know what ? iIstay up!!!! It is quiet, pup and I take a walk as the sun rises, the house is all mine.  I can crawl into bed as soon as I get home at night, to read, watch tv, or sleep.
I am letting Prince Charming deal with his own life by his own self. as soon as I start to feel weird, or guilty or needy I STOP (give myself a sticker on that chart in my head) and move FORWARD. not backwards.
It just sometimes feels a bit off, since it just is not what I THOUGHT MY LIFE WOULD BE.

I like that last sentence - I kind of feel like I am in a fast moving canoe with no paddles these days. But once I let go, I can enjoy the constantly changing scenery. But definitely not the life I planned!
