Weight Loss Update
I started a new diet about a week ago. It is actually not new to me since I tried it before but I didn't learn enough about it before starting that time and had to quit. It causes your body to flush out water and electrolytes which also causes your blood pressure to drop. My blood pressure has always run low - like right at 100/60 and if it drops I get dizzy and sluggish. Well now I know you have to make sure you replace those electrolytes as you go by using sea salt on your food and taking potassium and magnesium. My blood pressure has been higher too so it should work out better this time.
The diet is called Tran Tien. http://www.trantiendiet.com It is a diet that most people see a doctor/specialist? and buy packets of powders and "food". You can learn about that by googling "ideal Protein". I'm not working so I'm just doing it my way at home. I like to eat dinner with my family so I don't always follow the diet exactly then but I try to get as close as I can. I've been measuring everything and tracking my calories with www.myfitnesspal.com It helps a lot and I like having my sister on there doing it with me. They have an iphone app too so that makes it easy to enter what you eat when you aren't home.
Anyway, so far I have lost 4lbs! I am so happy because before I wasn't losing anything even when I cut out all sugar and bread and was mostly eating veggies, beans and a little lean meat like chicken and turkey. I was having cereal in the morning with 1% milk.
Now I am using MLO protein powder that I get at the grocery store - doesn't taste good at all but I'm willing to deal with that. It says I can have coffee and tea all I want but without sugar but I'm not supposed to have caffeine so I have found a few teas that are okay for me. I also like to have green beans with vinegar and sea salt and that fits in this diet. I have canned chicken for lunch sometimes or a boneless, skinless chicken breast cooked in a little oil. I can also have as much lettuce as I want and some other veggies. I like veggies so this is good.
My doctor might not like this way of losing weight but I'm sure she'll be glad the scale went down a little.
