Weight Loss Journey
New Day, New Attitude, I hope. I am about to start my weight loss journey. I am 28 years old, married with a beautiful step daughter whom I have known her entire life. I obviously want to be apart of her life for as long as I can!
Accountability is very important because at this point my will power is a zero... I need to lose about 100 pounds (Probably More) and my goal is to have it gone by the end on 2015!!! I think that I can do this... I have a lonely Elliptical machine that stares at me when I am just sitting on the couch. I think we ought to get reacquainted. Any support or words of encouragement will greatly help me!!! My start date is going to be January 3rd. (I need to wait till Payday for grocery shopping.)
I think the best way to start is to See my weight, write it down, and get over it... That is the easy part right?
as of 7:00 am this morning my weight is 285-- Holy crap! Well now I know.
History of weight gain:
I know this part doesn't really matter to the weight loss process but It will give anyone reading this an idea about where I am starting from.
When I was 3 I was diagnosed with Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma- chemo and prednisone for about 18 months- total metabolism killer. After that I spent most of my young life yo yo dieting with my grandmother, who was also overweight. We tried everything, Richard Simmons, Slim Fast, Fasting, No Carbs, No sugars, aerobics, you name it.
I have never been a thin girl, when i graduated high school i weight about 210... I got married to an abusive husband, mostly emotionally, not good for my spirit. We divorced in 2007. Spent most of my single life after that with friends at the bars, restaurants, and wherever food was offered i was pretty much there. ( that sounds awful)
In 2012 I was diagnosed with Endometrial cancer. 2 days after my 26th birthday I went in for surgery. Full hysterectomy, ovaries and all. I was very sad because I have only every wanted to be a mother. This for sure shot down my chances. Depression set in, food became a crutch for emotions... any emotion. I was dating my husband at the time and he had a 5 month old daughter. after about a year of dating we got married and its been a blessing and curse... Marriage make people fat I swear. He and I are both overweight but I think once he sees my efforts he will make changes too.
That's my story in a nut shell... thank for listening. If you want to follow my goal and support me all the way through it I would be so grateful.
Have a wonderful day, week, month, and 2015
