Weekend Filled With Changes
A lot will be happening today and tomorrow. Jeff (the hubby) and I are getting the homestead grounds in shape for the start of the spring growing season. Even though we have the house on the market, we don't want to get complacent and not take care to start/tend the crops. We want this place in tip-top shape. And, so, today we mow, fertilize, start some plantings, and tend to the perrenials that are already up. So much to do!!! Luckily, I woke up feeling well and my rosacea is calm to kick off the day.
Tomorrow, we officially move in with Jeff's mom to leave the property open to as many showings as possible. That will mean moving 2 dogs and 2 cats, plus all of our most personal belongings. I'll still be coming by the homestead once a day to freshen up the house, care for the plants, and feed the birds... but this won't be our home anymore after tomorrow. We've lived and loved here for 13 years... but now it is time to begin the long process of moving on...

You guys have a full weekend ahead of you, fantastic! What kind of crops are you planting?
Today we are putting in bush beans, sunflowers, and 2 big dogwoods. We have a bunch of perennials to fertilize as well... fruit trees (4), a blackberry patch, a grape vine, tons of different herbs, garlic, St. John's wort, and cardoon.
It's time to plant part of my garden too. The little ones will be here for a week and I will let them plant the peas and beans. After they go home I might have to plant again but I will let them think what they planted is coming up.
It must be hard for you to leave the place you have lived in for 13 years. Not sure what prompted you to have to move but I feel for you - changes are always difficult.
Hopefully you have a good relationship with your MIL and you are able to transition smoothly into your new surroundings. Good wishes to you getting all of your stuff and your fur friends moved:))
That sounds absolutely wonderful, Trisha!!!
Hey there, forestfreek! :) Yes, it is difficult. We are moving because my husband's job is being relocated to Atlanta. He really wants to continue on, and I totally support that. My MIL is an angel... she really is... I have loved her since the day we first met. Thank you so much for the good wishes. It means a lot! :)
