Weekends

He's gone this weekend, to a race in another city. I hate that I am so much happier when he's gone. I am more productive and less tense. Why can't he just be a man and move out? I know I helped enable him to be the passive, weak, dependent person he is. I stopped fighting against his natural inclination to avoid decision making and started dealing with everything myself. I have never felt I had a supportive partner, more like an adult child. Now, he is completely unable or unwilling to take responsibility for himself. Doesn't he have any self respect? I know I have lost all respect for him and can't stand to be around him. I find myself treating him like our almost-adult kids, helping him figure out a budget, getting him used to the idea of taking care of himself. It would kill me if someone treated me this way. He doesn't even notice how wrong it is. I hate feeling contempt for him. He is still the father of my children, and I do want him to be happy. I just cannot control my reactions to him anymore. It would be so much better for us both if we could actually physically live apart. I wonder how bad it would have to get before he would make some sort of move, take some action without being asked or told what to do.
