Week Thuh-ree of So-bri-ety!!! hehehe
I'm three weeks sober as of yesterday and I'm stoked. The fog is starting to lift and my thoughts are more positive. It's because of that that my motivation has about doubled as well. I accomplished more this weekend than I did in a month before sobriety. I kept all my commitments, the ones I made to myself and the promises I made to others. I was available for my friends when they needed to talk (which is something I dreaded doing before and would avoid like the plague). I took care of myself and the very overdue duties at home that I had been I had been dwelling on and dreading for a month. I made my best effort to accommodate people without sacrificing my boundaries, I even helped after the candlelight meeting. I woke up early without effort and stayed up late without exhaustion. I'm feeling that familiar and powerful spirituality that I had a year ago working it's magic in my life. None of the miracles are external yet, necessarily. It's more of this internal "shift" of my mindset. Rather than feeling uselessness and worthlessness, I've been feeling upbeat and capable. It's exciting and this new found inspiration has got me thinking about all of the other things that I want to do and try now that I know I am able. But I'm keeping myself reared in, I don't want to get too ahead myself and lose sight of the only important goal I have today: sobriety. That's my only job. And if I do that one job, everything else seems to take care of itself.
