Week one
Week one: Shock, denial, pain and sadness. This pretty much hurts like hell. I never wanted it to end up like this... I am going to miss my wife. I am going to miss living with my kids. This is the first journal entry I have written in my life.

Hey it is a start. The more you write the more you will connect with your inner feelings.
Keep pouring it out. Get it out, receive support and heal....in time, you will look back and see progress. If you do not see progress, then, you keep finding solutions. Consider counseling along with other resources. Godspeed.
I was where you are only 3 months ago. They all told me time heals, i didnt think it possible but even after 3 months i feel like iv hit a milestone, still a long way to go but the knot has gone.
Trust me, recovery is very possible. You will hurt, but you will learn and grow (if you want to) and, believe it or not, you will be better and happier. I know it sounds weird right now, but you will see. If you work at it.
You will soon find that getting all your feelings and emotions out is slowly going to help you heal. I am sorry for your pain.
I know the pain is harsh and feels unbearable, like life won\'t be happy again. Write in the journal whenever you can. Like people before me, writing about your feelings, getting the thoughts out of your head, really does help with the healing. We\'ve all been hurt, and we will be here to support you through this. {{{{{HUG}}}}
As hard as it is right now, it will get better. Keep letting it out and soon you will be letting it go. Its ok to hurt, we all do, but it really does get better.
Don\'t try to hide what you are feeling because that will only prolong the pain. This is a great start. Do what you need to do to get thru this rough time. I remember my first couple weeks I had so much anxiety I stayed busy non-stop. Helped in the short term but not the long term because I didn\'t want to feel the pain. So for how horrible you are feeling right now you are on the road to recovery...give it time. It does get better just don\'t try to rush it.
I\'m sorry you are in so much pain. I\'m going through divorce too. DS is a wonderful place for support, hope you find much comfort here.
I have healed more in the month that I\'ve been on DS than I have in the almost two years I tried to do it alone. Everyone was so tired of me talking about my ex they avoided me. Family and friends, they just couldn\'t understand why I just couldn\'t get over it. Here people are willing to help you with your pain even if they are going through pain their own. I got tired of people telling me that it would get better, but you know what, it really does. Hang in there. Here people do know what you are going through.
I\'m sorry you\'re hurting. One year ago on March 10, I found a motel business card in my ex\'s wallet. Totally changed my life. But I can say one year later, it does get better. Hugs! Keep talking to us here.

Don\'t you think it is about time to add a little to the old journal? I\'ll share a tip I learned. Whenever I start writing a discussion post comment or journal comment I watch the length and the number of \"I statements\" or references to my life. When It starts to scroll or I hit three \"I statements\" then I know it is a journal comment coming out. As I write this I am thinking \"Some of my discussion posts would make good journals too. Easier to find later at least.\" so I plan to do that too. Okay - I won\'t delete this and turn it into a journal post. [grin]

Yeah, well, I\'m in this group too that no one wants to be a part of. Time is a healer, even though that is the most difficult thing to hear. Don\'t you wish you could take a magic pill and the pain would disappear forever? Keep logging on to DS. It does help.
Hey my little smokie friend, how are you doing?
Hi, there just keep writing. I was a basket case two years ago but now try to bring me down. DS has helped me more than therapy ever did.
