Week 3, Day 1 C25k
Today was the first day of Week 3 (of 5) of the C25k program. Today I walked about 1.3 miles in a half hour. There are 3 days per "week" of the program, giving you time to rest and cross-train between days. The next step is another 2 mile walk, and then a 2.25 mile walk. I'm going to do those on Weds and Fri, respectively. The first day you just walk for a time, then the other 2 days you walk for a distance. This gives your body time to rest on day one of the week, while you are still active in the program. I'm trying my best to stay on track and not go over and start skipping days or weeks, since I feel up to walking more most of the time.
Today I didn't feel that great walking, though. I walked slow (about 5 minutes slower than I normally would have) for the mile-plus that I did. My hip was hurting at the beginning of it, but with time it started feeling better so I went on. If it had still hurt at the end of the driveway, I would have just gone back home and saved my walk for another day, but it was feeling better by the time I got out of the complex, so I just walked slow. It was also really hot out today, in the 90's plus humidity. I walked in the heat of the day, when I normally walk a bit later. It's just that the afternoon storms are coming now, so I didn't want to get caught outside in the storm. It storms almost every single day in the afternoon, around 2pm, and it lasts for a couple hours. I walked today around 1:30 and the clouds were coming in as I was walking home. It didn't storm today, though. We are in a drought and we need the rain.
I just feel off today. I tried making dinner, but the chicken was bad. I can't smell because I'm sick and wasn't sure until the chicken was done if it was good or not. I tried a bite of it and it was bad, so Geo and I ordered Chinese food instead. I didn't want to have to do that, since it used up the last of my money for the month, but we needed something to eat for dinner. I'm still feeling sick, but sleeping better. The NyQuil has been helping me with sleep. I don't know if it's the alcohol in it or the other stuff, but it's been knocking me out lately. It's good, though, because then I don't need to take anything for sleep. It just tastes like crap. I guess if they made it taste good more people would get addicted to it. I'm not willing to take the stuff long enough to get addicted to it, it tastes nasty. Hopefully tonight is the last night I need to take it, then I can go back to falling asleep on my own. I might not even need it tonight depending on how I feel in a couple hours when it's time to go to bed. Last night I was feeling good up until the last hour or so when the sinus pressure hit hard. I should take some allergy pills now to see if they kick in time so I don't have to take the nasty stuff.
Mood has been okay today. I don't feel horrible, but I don't feel great. Like I said above, I just feel a bit off. I got enough sleep last night (about 11 hours) and took a short nap (less than a half hour) but I'm tired again, so hopefully I will sleep well tonight. I haven't been stressed today, I did some deep breathing exercises to relax just in case and took a nice bath. Food was good today- the Chinese place we ordered from has healthy options- they don't use MSG at all and their food was really good. Hopefully I will keep losing weight! I'm sure trying to work hard at it.
