Week 1 Update
Okay, so week 1 didn't go quite as planned. My goal to walk twice a week in the fresh air got rained out. I was able to get my walk in on Sunday. Guess you can't have it all. We'll see how the weather holds up for me this week.
The major task I accomplished this week was a follow-up meeting with the funeral home that took care of Mark. They check in with their clients to see how things are going and discuss (no pressure) the possibility of pre-planning your own final arrangements. I had been wanting to talk to the funeral director that took care of Mark and thank him for some very kind words he said to me as I said my final goodbye to Mark. Today I got the chance and it made us both very happy.
As for my self-indulgent act, I took my daughter Vicki to see Celtic Woman live! She has been wanting to go for years. We were supposed to go a few years back, but I couldn't (wouldn't?) pull it off. But I got us tickets and we had a lovely time.
is this going to make me a happier person? I don't know. But it it's forward movement in the life I need to build for myself without the man I spent 36 years of my life with.
