Wednesday update
Bit of a better day today. Reading replies and hugs lifted me up. I thank those of you who took the time to reach out to me (((HUGS))) back to you. Been working at cleaning out closets and packing some of my husband's clothes for the thrift store. It's a sad job. Got the pantry cleaned out of non-healthy food and restocked with good stuff. Did some garden work, pulling weeds and trimming. Still have a long todo list, but am chipping away at it.
Heard from my daughter who has nodules on her thyroid, but needs no treatment right now. Heard from my step-daughter, who had her thyroid removed and the cancer has come back. They are trying to figure out if it is in the thyroid bed or the parathyroid. Body scan found no cancer in the rest of her body. Thank God for that.
Got a reply to an email I sent my nearby son. Asked why he has ignored and neglected me since my husband died seven weeks ago. Said he just didn't want to upset me - geeze!
I'm upgrading my status from horrible to bad. I'll give it my best shot to move up a bit each time I post. Love you all! Jan

Love you too Jan! Just live one minute, one hour, one day at a time. That\'s all that any of us can too and chip away at our to do lists and writing down what we are thankful for each day. I need to start doing that too! You inspired me with your chip away analogy!
My Mario is coming this Saturday on the \"Love Train\" Please pray that he arrives safely and doesn\'t have too much stress. Also, our Angel kitty is kind of lethargic today, I hope it\'s just the weather and there isn\'t anything wrong.
Love & hugs,
Lois
Great to hear you are moving ahead.
I talked a while with my 91 year-old mother last week about how she is doing. Her husband died 8 years ago--and she thought her own life was at an end too.
However, she realized that her health was OK, and that the many years of care giving for her husband were over and she could start to have some interests that were her own again. She has had 8 years now of putting herself first--probably for the first time in her whole life (taking care of a handicapped sibling, parents, children and husband were almost constant since she can remember).
So, as the immediate sadness and loss get better, think about trying some of the things that always were out-of-reach because of your responsibilities to others. Good Luck
An article on caregiving and what comes after that is pretty good can be found at
