Just venting....
My experience with the home nursing has been sketchy at best. The physical therapist came once and gave me exercise instructions. I have been doing those. The registered nurse has been here twice and is very nice, professional and a good listener. She's a keeper! I have gotten a abcess in the usual spot and usually my doctor will give me a prescription for anti-biotics. She wouldn't yesterday when I was finally called back. I was frustrated by this. I was to see my occupational therapist for the first time that same day so I couldn't make an appointment to g:o in to the doctor. The appointment was at 1:30p.and by 2p. I called the office and they patched me through to her. She said "Oh, I was going to give you a call." Ugh! Ya, you could have done that 45 minutes ago if you knew you were going to be late. I will see her next week. I called the office and talked to the head nurse about this. I can see 10-15 minutes late but not a half an hour and no call and then she is flip with me when I finally have to track her down. Like I told the registered nurse today any patient that got upset by a nurse taking a couple of minutes to call her next appointment and let them know they are going to be late is nuts so there is really no excuse for not doing just that. It shows you care. Aren't nurses supposed to care?
If you have ever had an infection in your body you know how I was feeling. I once had to wait two weeks to get in to surgery for a cyst on my ovary. And another time I had three infections in my body at one time. So I have experienced infections before.
I thought since the doctor had seen me for it twice before she would prescribe again by just talking to me. Not so. That's fine and I understood. I was still frustrated after sitting around waiting for her call back and then to find it wasn't going to happen. I had put some numz-it on it the night before and tried to sleep. I had a horribly hot feever all that night. Woke up and my entire top lip was all balooned out-swolen. It went down but I found I had a big growth on my upper mouth. It is full of stuff and I have cleared it once and nearly another time. The nurse said to rinse my mouth with warm salt water 4 times a day so I will do that. I can't go to the dentist because they will want to extract the tooth probably. What I need is all the teeth extracted and dentures made. But they want their upfront and I DON"T HAVE IT!!
Hopefully I can get in on Friday and get the prescription. I just can't do much more than one thing per day. More than that causes me too much stress. I am subject to panic attacks. So hopefully I can do that. I hate going in to the doctor anyway and was so hoping she would just prescribe the meds. Oh well.

I know how hard this all must be, I suffer from panic attacks too and know how difficult all the juggling of doctors can be and how it is when things don\'t go as planned. I hope you get things worked out, get your meds and feel much better soon. It not easy to be a happy person when battling with an illness but we must still try.
Hugs, Jean
