Wedding

Hello all,

I hope this is appropriate to share. I have not hid my situation over the last year since my wife, Brittie, as I refer to her (Brittany), passed. I do find myself talking about it too much at work or in social environments that aren't best fit.

I met Brittie summer/fall 2012. One week after we began dating we was Dx with a nasty Breast Cancer. She tried to break up with me and I said no way but what I do need is two things: 1) Regardless of the situation/news let's always find the positive and fuel off that and 2) In the words of Jimmy V, Don't give up, don't ever give up. I offered her that if she could do that I would do everyting else and we agreed this would work and we'd stay a team.

In short, she managed to survive three years and medically should have made it eighteen months. Brittie and I shared three wonderful years and other than the lord and probably my mother I have never felt love and honour like I have with my beautiful bride.

Despite the prognosis she was kickin' butt until Late June 2015. When admitted the the hospital 7/3/16 we never went home again. The hardest thing I've ever had to do was tell my wife and her mother that Brittie wasn't going home. I thank the Lord, my strong family culture growing up and Britte and giving me the courage to be the man I was put on earth to be. As much as we can look like a rock on the outside there is no real soul that can honestly say they aren't crippled inside by the saddness.

I believe in eternal life and that my wife is with me everyday, just not in the flesh.

Upon the news, we engaged Sunday night 7/19/16 in Hospice. We married 12 noon Tuesday July 21st 2016. Please enjoy our photos from our wedding below. If anyone would like to hear more I'd like to share more of our story at this point.

Hi Carmine....Would love to read more of your story...I tried to pull up the wedding pics but it wouldn't go through.......I'm so very sorry for your loss and glad you found this place to share your feeling and memories....it's so hard to talk to people who have not been through it on the outside and a lot of people who don't understand will even at points try to avoid you because they don't know what to say or don't want to upset you. They don't realize that by talking about our loved ones we honor their memory and find comfort in talking about them and sharing who they were.
I hope you find comfort and peace here in sharing your memories of your beautiful wife....stay safe....Jackie
