Weather woes

I have been watching the news and am so appalled by the tragedy the weather is causing.  There are forest fires in the North, floods further South, deadly floods in the USA.  I hope my SOTH in those areas are safe.
India is in the midst of a deadly heat wave. We visited there in February and the weather was pleasant, except for the dreadful smog in Delhi.   Now  people are dying because of the heat, and the monsoons are not due just yet.  I cannot imagine living in Delhi when the temperature is 45C (not sure what that is in Fahrenheit but it is well over 100F for sure).  Joe found a photo of a street that was melted.  The straight lines were snaky.  There are so many people there that have no reprieve from the heat.
It has been very windy here and I get headaches with the pollen but I am not complaining.  I am thanking my lucky stars that I live here in the Great White North!
On a brighter note, summer is coming and our little community action committee is planning our next community event - a community picnic in the park.  Hopefully we are not too late to get all the permits etc.  We want to hold it in August.  We tend to hibrernate in the winter but now that spring is here we are gung ho to go!
My neighbour and I also have organized a 'Traveling Table'.  We set up a table outside with free coffee and cookies and information.  We decided to meet our close neigbours who live in the buildings around us so set up behind our building where we could meet people coming form work.  It was fun and informative for us, and hopefully for the people who stopped by.
I went for a walk after dinner this evening.  It was cool but I felt incredibly at peace.  I am certain I was not alone.  Was it Lisa or my parents or my brother with me?  Or perhaps all of them.  I walked for an hour and didn't want to go home except that nature called!  I have my ups and downs but today it was a good day.  In fact it is about the first time that Joe was out and I didn't have a good, noisy cry.  I am sure it is a one off but it felt good.
Lisa:  I am sure you were with me.  I felt surrounded by love so I suspect you may have brought the family.  I miss you always and love you forever, Mum

It is wonderful to experience the inner peace that nature gives! To just be one with nature, and feel the love and presence of our departed loved ones........ You are such a loving person to reach out to your neighbours, (strangers!), in such a beautiful way!! I salute you, my friend! xxx

So happy you had a good day. It helps us so very much in our journey. Yes they are with us always. I think our minds sometimes get so bound up in our grief that we cannot feel or see the signs. Continued blessings. Love, Kathy xoxoxo

I love those moments of peace that happen now and then. Wish it were possible to keep them always. It\'s something we are all striving for but know it\'s out of reach.

Yes the climate changes are getting more and more apparent. It just boggles my mind that there still are people who are denying it exist. I don\'t know the cause of the climate changes whether it be human or cyclic or a combo of both but the fact that it is happening is undeniable. I\'m worried for our grandchildren and their children and grandchildren.

Grateful for those peace filled moments and always they come for me as well when I am out enjoying Mother Nature.

Our world with all of its climate changes is frightening and my thoughts are always with those affected by it everywhere. There is not a day that goes by that somewhere is being hit hard. Deepest of sighs...

Gentle care and I have now doubt you had your cheerleading squad with you on that walk. :)

Oh Marlene, it is truly very sad to hear of the misfortunes that disruptive weather can bring. My sister\'s house in Oklahoma was fortunately bypassed by a tornado that went through her town a couple of weeks ago. But many others are not as fortunate. This weather is so very unpredictable.

I hope that you get the permits you need for the community picnic. It sounds like a lot of fun and great comradery!

May the rest of your week continue to be peaceful and good.

Love & Peace,
Diane

The weather is frightening but I am so thankful for the sun and sunshine now! I am glad you met some neighbors, I may have to think about doing something like that too this summer. We will have some new neighbors then. The human bond is so important to our well being and I enjoy hearing about the people you know. Sending you love...

The weather is just crazy!! My daughter, Janice lives in Little Elm, Tx. and it is close to Dallas. So far, her home has not been effected, but things are flooding so badly in Texas.
I wish I had some place to walk, where I would feel safe, to walk alone. What type of information are you sharing, with the traveling table?? Sounds so fun!!

I\'m with you on the news reports. Horrifying, being killed by the heat, and all those poor refugees, drowning on the flimsy boats, trying to get to Italy. The worst thing in the world, I fear, is being a poor refugee. Hundreds of thousands, losing their lives, hoping for charity to eat.

The weather here is warm and windy.. beautiful, and I am trying to go for a walk with Grace. All morning I had awful cramps, \'till I remembered Kaopectate. A G-d send. Still, missed my dr.\'s appt., too tired and medicated to drive, to dress, to talk.. She is a lovely therapist, just passed her boards, has a brother with a fatal illness. Is working with fibros, like myself. She must under-stand that sometimes I\'m too ill to go.

It\'s funny that the drs. don\'t always get just how disabling fibromyalgia is. The i.b.s., irritable bowel syndrome, is the worst most days. I think Jake was getting sick, and inheriting this illness that I got from my dad. He told me he wasn\'t sleeping. Insombnia, just awful. Well, it\'s too late now.

Thanks for being such a good soth, available and honest. Love, abby

Marlene, the heat in India sounds horrible! And with the poverty and ovecrowding it must be torture. You are right - we are so blessed in North America. I have often thought of how hard it must be to be a grieving mom in a third world country. I grieve, yes, but I have creature comforts and therapy and so forth to help ease the journey. Other women around the world do not have what I have.
So neat how you felt Lisa with you on your walk and maybe your other loved ones too. What a gift!
Love and peace, Linda

Your walk sounds soooo nice. When I get real down my friend will park near water the river or the ocean so I will relax and just BE. I love the water and the sounds that it makes. I am sure you had a group experience on your walk. It would be nice to know or feel my Mom and Dad with Mike hanging out with me.

I hope this weather calms down, we are in an el nino so the hurracains will not be so intense. I hope this is a good sign for the summer. I do not know what it means for the Northern areas but I hope for the best.

Tight hugs

My Pastor and some friends just set off to India for 3 weeks.. They are in the mountains, so the heat should not be so unbearable. I always love reading your journal. It always gives me hope that I will continue to heal. Love, Lauri
