Weather and Ken
Hi everyone,
We had snow Thursday here in the Northeast & again last night. The snow was heavy, wet & we had some freezing rain too. The weight of the autumn leaves that were all still on the trees have made trees snap, branches fall & the power to go out. Our power went out from 7:30 last night but thankfully came back on early this morning so we have lights & heat, yay! My car's back windshield wiper was damaged from a falling branch, but I can deal with that.
My adopted daughter Donna, has no heat or electricity & her town, (Tewksbury, Massachusetts) is predicting it will be several days before the power is on where she lives. They are only 20 minutes away but always get slammed with losing power for days & days. In August during Hurricane Irene we lost power here in Dracut for only four hours & Donna lost it for 3 days! And now its cold. Donna & her hubby have 2 boys, Kyle who is 14 & Walter who is only 3. If they cannot borrow a generator I think we will be having house guests since its so cold in their house. No problem, the more the merrier. :)
Ken is feeling a bit better today. I have been having him take 800mg of Ibuprofen around the clock since his condition is an inflammation of the arteries in his head. Until they start the steroids I thought it would help with the headaches & maybe reduce the inflammation a bit? The vascular surgeon said he could take it. Anyhow, thankfully today he is in better spirits and slept last night & has some pain relief.
Thanks to all for all your concern & caring & prayers. I will keep you posted on his condition.

Glad to know that you have power and of course the more the merrier my friend if Donna cannot borrow a generator. Probably a wise thing for them to own if they are able to do at some point with all those power problems they suffer from. Maybe something Santa can throw in his pack? :)
What a relief that Ken rested better through the night and yes to the 800 mg if the doc said it was okay which you said he had.

Yes snow in October, NOT a good omen lol. I pray for Ken every day and for you, also.
That wet dense snow before it gets cold enough to be light and fluffy is the most challenging. Good to hear that your power is back and how wonderful that you are there for Donna and her family!
So glad that Ken is more comfortable ~ how could he not be with so many prayers and your skillful TLC?

I am so glad that Ken is feeling a bit better. Headaches are relentless and drain so much from you...and prevents you from truly enjoying anything. Crazy, crazy weather! All these white Halloweens!! Love you sweet one...

Linda, I am so sorry to hear of the mess this surprise snowstorm caused. I sure hope that your daughter Donna gets her power back soon. It\'s been so unseasonably cold here in the Northeast. I was hoping that we could have gone just a wee bit longer without turning up the heat so much but that\'s nature. We did not get any snow here in Suffolk County Long Island, just a lot of heavy rain, but other parts of New York were walloped. I\'m so glad to hear that Ken is more comfortable. The S word in Oct is not ever ok. Could not believe my eyes when I saw it on the news. What a mess. So sorry for so many people and I am hoping all involved get the help they need and quickly.
Ibuprofen is a good idea for inflamation so glad Ken is feeling better. Why have they not started the steroid??? Hugs,Inga
Come on down to Florida! I won\'t rub it in....lol....I know that the weather can be very treacherous especially when it is as unexpected as this event was....such an early winter.
