WE GET WHAT WE NEED

When I quoted that song... I conveniently forgot a line.  We can't always get what we want....BUT IF WE TRY , SOMETIMES, we get what we need.  I was reminded by my new love....

I have returned safely from Colorado and seen some amazing and unimaginable things. I could go on forever, but am trying a new approach that he has adopted.  To be still and listen. It is funny because today as I spend my first day home doing just that... it leaves me open to hear many more things .. including others reaching out.

I will say I went expecting and wishing for something... but have found so much more besides.

Love and hugs to all.

A quieter peaceful Kim

I think to get what we need we need to know what we want. Otherwise it’s just sending mixed messages.
I like the listening...... in our little pond (that is the headwater for one of the purest watersheds in the state) the frogs sing the bass while the tree frogs do the chorus. 4:30 am the birds start their day and are only too happy to include me. So I lie there and listen till the garden chores start. My favorite walk has streams and wind in pine trees. Ahhhh.... that’s peace.
Look up ‘ Wild mountain thyme’ might be a song you can sing now❤️
Mountains change people. In India I could see the Himalaya in the distance (about 70 miles away) and I wanted to go so badly.

I think traveling, anywhere, just resets everything. Anywhere I've been lucky enough to travel to, I always felt different, less inside myself and more part of everything, whether it was the mountains, the desert, the ocean, the city. Whether in the US or abroad. It is all a wonder... all of it. It's hard to go back to old ways of thinking or habits or whatever, after experiences like that.

Glad you got to have that for yourself!

I am so happy for you and so glad that you are back safe and sound. It is amazing at how therapeutic going someplace new and seeing the world through someone else's eyes can be. When we remain in the same place for too long we can get stuck and blinded. It helps to know that there is a whole other world out there to explore and learn from. I think we learn more about ourselves as we learn more about others and the world around us. I am so looking forward to this pandemic ending so that I can have the opportunity to learn and explore. I have not been brave like you and have been very cautious about going out and traveling. It has been hard not seeing friends and family and being stuck at home. I feel like my growth as a human being is being stunted in some areas. However, I have been very grateful to have the extra time with my children. I hope you have many happy memories from your trip and again am so proud of you for venturing out.
