we are staying strong
We are now at some kind of hump in the road, My D is now needing extra blood ans well as extra platelets. His last results were 66 Hb, WCC 1, Plat 3, Neut. .1 and his report says blood film is suggestive of acute leukaemia, so we will have to wait and see what our next step will be. Because of the fungal infection that he had in the brain, his Drs will not give him any more chemo Vidasa, as it is believed to bring his system down too low. keep the faith.

Lynet -- if he cannot have chemo (and with an infection in the brain, it is probably impossible), please check out the Alternative Treatment thread. Heather\'s dad had a similar problem where they could not give him any further chemo and they only gave him a few weeks -- I think that was nearly a year ago and he is still doing fine. It seemed to work for him, and I don\'t think there is anything to lose at this point. If you cannot find that thread for some reason, please let me know and I will get you the URL.
