We are people, not resources!
Working in the corporate world is causing me to go against my basic core values and this week put even more pressure on me to do things I would never even consider in my private life. I won't go into it...Remember when people used to be called "employees" or "personnel"? For a while we were called "human resources". Well now the latest word is "resources" just a resource.. Sigh... nothing human about us anymore. We are just like the monitor and computer I am writing this on. They don't care about us and I am sure that they are looking to outsource us or make us work even harder taking away our creativity and individuality. Standardize everything, comply, centralize, assimilate!! It's not worth all the stress. In my mind I am preparing myself to make a big change. I am tired of my shoulders tightening, the headaches and living up to some beancouter's over- blown, job performance metrics table. They don't know me or the people I support, nor do they care. They just know their numbers are not up to the suggested corporate standards and we better do what they or they'll find someone who will. I was doing a great job before all this happened and I have a wonderful bunch of people that I work with that are happy with the way I support them. I am going to concentrate on this, because I know that no matter what I am worth something .

Life is so full of challenges. This all sounds like a test to me. In th end , at the end of the day you have to live with yourself. The truth, in my opinion, if we chose to deny our feeling and deal with them, they will deal with us. Be true to your morals and core beliefs Robin. You sound like a person with integrity and depth. In these crazy, schiophrenic times the good are tested the most.
I read a very cute saying yesterday, \" Think inside the box, it not as crowded as it use to be\". :}
Whenever the day is over at work, leave all that sh-t there, you are not getting overtime for taking the work home with you...
Go have some TLC time this weekend
