There’s climbing, swinging, tumbling, rolling, jumping, balancing and more. Oppia acknowledges the Traditional Owners of Country throughout Australia kindergartens bayswater , and acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the Land on which we work, play and learn, and pay our respects to Elders past and present. Our vision for our children is one of independent, confident young thinkers, eager to embrace their future potential.
Our educators and teachers work collaboratively throughout the day to support each child’s individual goals, interests and developmental needs. This connected approach ensures every experience – whether it’s during play, mealtimes, outdoor exploration or intentional teaching, contributes to your child’s learning, confidence and development. Play-based learning experiences are provided for older children who no longer don’t sleep in centre. Approved children's education and care services across Australia are assessed and rated by their state and territory regulatory authority. The NQS is part of the National Regulations and includes seven quality areas that are important to children's learning and developmental outcomes.
Our Maternal and Child Health service is a free and confidential service providing child health and developmental checks, information, advice and support to families with young children from birth to 6 years. Our Children and Family Centres in Bayswater and Wantirna South bring together long day care, kindergarten, maternal and child health services and playgroups in one location. We believe that the positive interactions children have with our staff are the most important component of our high-quality program. Our highly experienced and dedicated teachers and educators build strong, trusting relationships with each child, fostering a sense of belonging and confidence. Our centre provides children with a warm, friendly, safe, secure and inviting environment which encourages families input in all aspects of the daily program. Across the service we participate in incursions and excursions engaging with our local communities including dental visits, weekly library sessions, emergency services visiting the centre and anything else that may arise within our programs.
The Playground to Plate ® program connects to a wider educational approach centred around permaculture and sustainability. We see our learning environments as a third teacher that offers invitations to explore and investigate. They are places that develop, challenge and build children’s capacities with materials and relationships. We are thoughtful, mindful and deliberate about what environments and materials are provided and how these are presented as we believe this directly effects the way a child comes to the learning experience. When we speak of environments we value both the indoors and outdoors equally and have a particular emphasis on engaging learning that respects our natural eco systems, sustainability and environmental awareness.
Both programs are led by dedicated educators and specialists, ensuring children benefit from rich, intentional learning experiences beyond the traditional classroom environment. As a double-unit sessional kindergarten, we provide a high quality, government-funded kindergarten program tailored to each child’s needs in a family-focussed and supportive way. As part of our annual re-enrolment process, conducted each August, families are invited to discuss their child’s upcoming kindergarten year with the service.
Indoors, light-filled rooms create a warm, family-like atmosphere for children across every age group. The environments are set up to give children opportunities for play-based learning, creative experiences and quieter moments throughout the day. Choosing the right program involves evaluating your child’s capacity for structured time, your family’s schedule, and the level of convenience and flexibility required. Our educators create nurturing environments where children develop secure relationships, build resilience, gain confidence and develop a strong sense of belonging. Many children complete both years and we highly recommend continuing with Advance Early Learning Centres for both funded Kindergarten years where possible.
Engaging children through exploring the kinder’s natural outdoor spaces sparks their natural curiosity and inquisitiveness around what they observe, finding solutions, and planning ideas with peers. Hi, I’m Lawrie, Kindergarten Teacher and leader of the great team at Flamingo Kindergarten. I have a Bachelor of Early Childhood and have been teaching in kindergartens for over 20 years.
