Donna, I\'ve heard it said that sometimes we have to wait so that we can realize that the answer, when it comes, is not anything we could have done by ourselves or for ourselves, but that it is something accomplished by God Himself in His glory and power.
So, here we come to another Holiday Season with out our youngest son. We have suffered through 7 of them already but at least we knew he had done wrong, and was paying his \"dues\". This Holiday Season 2013 was supposed to be different. Charlie was supposed to be home with us this year. While he has been incarcerated he lost both of his Grandmothers plus a very dear family friend. He has paid for his crimes. He will Never be free from the guilt but the Judge said he what he was to pay for his wrongs. He paid it. He manned up, he admitted it, they could not have proven it if he had not manned up. He trusted the system. He paid his dues. Now they still will not release him because he \"might\" re-0ffend. Every inmate that is release for ANY violoation might re-offend!! Just so very sad and frustrated.
My son goes to court June 24 to be tried for SORTS. He has not committed any crimes other than what he went to prison for. He was charged in 2003, admitted his guilt and served his time in prison. They told him he was going to be released and then told him he would not be that he was being held for trial AGAIN for same thing because 1 therapist out of 3 felt he was a bad risk. I truly do not know how they can \"try him\". It sickens me to think we have to sit and listen to this all over again. He has never been given the chance to prove he has been rehabilitated. Missouri laws are unreal.
