Waiting for results from vet
Paul took a urine sample up to the vet's. Will have an answer tomorrow morning. she has blood in her urine (easy to see in the snow.) I am worried, although we seem to go through this twice a year. She gets bladder infections and has to go on antibiotics. She has crystals in her urine/kidneys and is on special dog food that we can only get from the vet. But I am worried that this may be kidney stones and I feel awful as I know she is at the very least uncomfortable and possibly in pain. Paul picked up antibiotics, and if this is an infection, (which is what it was in the past), then she should hopefully be clearing up/feeling better in a few days. We have to keep her on this for a month. $100 for the antibiotics. Waiting to see what the vet says tomorrow on the urine analysis.
Fingers crossed and saying my prayers.

Lets hope for the best and Kona will be herself in a couple of days. Is this something that bothers this breed of dog? And pray tell how you managed to get a urine sample from a dog!
You need doggie health insurance. Ouch. I hope Kona is better in a couple of days.
@ Joyce: I don\'t know if it is the breed. Maybe a genetic thing though. We got her from a rescue and they rescued her from a puppy mill and pool little Kona had a lot of health issues when we got her. So who knows. Urine sample was easy on a female! We get these flat plastic containers from Chinese food. They are rectangular and about 1 1/2 inches deep. So when she goes to squat, you just scoot one under her to catch the pee pee.
