Walk
I've got to learn to walk again. You know,,,the heel-toe way. I noticed this morning that I'm not walking. It's a kinda long shuffle. My first thought was it was the new shoes I'm breaking in. They're regular shoes. Not the athletic type I've been wearing for so many years. They're about twice as heavy and stiffer than the other kind. But, that's wrong thinking. I remember I've be shuffling for a long time. Maybe it's from when I had the callous problem a few years ago when it hurt when I walked. And, in my small house, there's not much demand for long step walking. A quick shuffle will get me anywhere. Fact is, there is little space for long strides. I can't walk more than 5 feet in a straight line except from the living room to kitchen. Thought about walking out in the street, but that'd look pretty silly. Guess it's time to dust off the treadmill znd see if it still works. Walking is a no-brainer until you realize you're not doing it.

I had to relaearn to walk after one surgery. It is truly just habit. In my case my legs forgot what to do, criscrossing like a newborn colts.
I used a walker but then found that my best help was literally reminding my legs, left, right, left right.
It sounds like a large part may be habit and as for walking outside, if that is the way you walk right now, than so be it. Look closely and you;ll find a lot of people do things that are \'out of the ordinary\" Good luck, ((*_*))

I recently got myself a treadmill and i LOVE IT. It\'s helped me tremendously and i feel so good after getting off of it, so much energy, and i find my blood sugars drop almost right away. According to my sister, that high stays with a person for 6 or more hours! She\'s been doing her treadmill for a few years, so i trust what she\'s telling me. Good luck, Mike. Hugs and kisses, Deb :o)
