After starting his sonic journey by shredding in Rock / Punk / Grunge and Stoner bands, the young self-taught multi-instrumentalist’s ears were unexpectedly exposed to reggae music in his school playground. Quickly becoming fascinated by old-school Roots and it’s meditative counterpart, Dub, he decided to start productions of his own. A few years later, while already appearing on party line ups alongside O.B.F, Mysticwood reveals his producer and dub mixing skills on this fresh release entitled "The Mystic Way Of Dub", his first EP. Perhaps the biggest plus point for SoundCloud is the fact that the web service is an authentic, respected, and lively part of the current music scene. The brand is extremely well-known and used by music makers and enthusiasts the world over.
The latest musical venture of this iconic pair is inevitably reminiscent of Sunship’s classic remix of Craig David’s chart topper ‘7 Days’. The producer’s version is slightly darker, with more ambient melodic textures and punchy pizzicato strings. An intensely gripping opening kick drum sets the tone for an absolute powerhouse of a track. It’s a perfect example of a modern garage track which pays homage to the genre’s classic sound, intertwining tight drum sounds with zooming synth pads and dirty sub bass. The influence of late ’90s garage seeps into this record, which catapulted one of Birmingham’s greatest musicians of recent years into the limelight. UK garage’s radio culture is captured by lines such as “original pirate material /You’re listening to the Streets / Lock down your aerial”.

London based 21-year-old Cat Burns is steadily rising from Streatham to the stratosphere. This year, her bittersweet and tenderhearted track Go – a song inspired by a friend’s breakup – found a second life on TikTok, where users appeared to post endlessly, soundtracking their own sentimental melancholy with the song. Luckily, the track’s viral status didn’t dwindle, but instead found material, offline success (Go currently sits at number three on the Official UK Charts, and doesn’t seem to be budging just yet).
Nedry are a trio from London, Osaka and Reigate, fusing post dubstep, trip hop and post rock elements – hailed by the British press, theyʼve released two albums and theyʼve performed at Sonar and SXSW. The live video of ʻLady Grinning Soulʼ from the same show, has already received praise by Mike Garson, David Bowieʼs pianist and creative collaborator since 1972. In 2010 he recorded his debut solo album proper ‘Arts and Sciences’. An instant pop song featuring strings, synths and guitars and James unique voice and songwriting.
A mate of mine mixed a big record with A Famous Artist, which later got turned into a duet with Another Famous Artist using his stems…he didn’t get credited or paid, until luckily it was spotted. The Virtual Big Sing will be streaming to families, communities and residential care homes on Sunday 19th June, and to schools and pupils across the country on Tuesday 21st June.
