Visit to Dr. "G" today.
Had an appointment with the amazing "Dr. G" today. Amazing is not enough of a description - add brilliant, empathetic, sympathetic. She has completely turned my life around. She has designed a regimen and schedule that has worked for over a year now, with only 1 minor change today. I am adding 1/2 Sinemet to my 3:30 pm dose to bridge the gap between doses of Stalevo.
We discussed DBS again. I have been doing research on the process and believe it is the way I want to go. Will put it on hold, however, until I can secure additional health coverage. I have also contacted Medtronic for information on their product. Another reason to wait is the surgery is not being done here yet. Her office is in the process of making the surgery available locally. That would keep travel costs to a minimum.
It is a scary surgical procedure to consider. Dr. G. indicated that I have the time to think about it and that is exactly what I will do.

Glad to hear you have such a good relationship with your Dr. I too feel blessed to have a great Dr who understands me, and seems to have a grasp on PD.
You seem to be level headed, and I\'m sure you will make the right choice when the time comes.
