Visit Day 2
I fell into one of my semi-comotose slumbers yesterday afternoon. I donae believe these slumbers arenae as deep as witnesses claim, but they are deep enough that we would be arguing degrees more than fact. I believe I wake far enough to do threat assesments, butnae far enough to participate in tomfoolery. I donae care who gets the next turn in the bathroom or who is the rightest righty in the right pack. I have dreams to dream.
Hubs woke to share my pre-dawn meditations with me yesterday. "Invaded" was the first verb I chose for that sentence, but "invasion" has a much harsher innuendo than feels appropriate. The meditation ritual was abruptly interrupted, but. . . Letting God lead the dance. It felt best to simply flow with it. I havenae a trustworthy road map or plan of action for the changes which need to go down for this transition. I certainly ain't shopping for one in the Romance or Self-help aisles of the book/video stores. My personal research has uncovered one of the world's largest divorcee collections in those author halls. I donae believe academic references offer clues to success in the home/love arena. The world is a much bigger laboratory, especially when viewed with passion. Keep your laurels off my breakfast table, oh self-important one.
The sharing which took the place of my morning meditations were predictably intense. All the latest greatest from the middle aged child dramas in Texas. The novelty there was that I was able to speak of times I had tried to use the same techniques, all the way to working with CPS assistance while he was busy working without triggering more tit-for-tat skirmishes. My prayer in bringing up the prior attempts is to fine tune the harmonies. My quiet wonder is if harmonizing from the same sheet of music is more important than Being Right. In the dance analogies, insert new dance flourish here. Practice, practice, practice.
The executor/co-owner dramas seem to have shifted to the anniversary processing of his father's death. The anniversaries attached to that had hit my radar, but just enough to confirm the lack of emotional bond with my in-laws. I've had automotive break-downs which effected me more deeply in my heart. From my side of the in-law hyphen, the ineractions were mostly in the tit-for-tat skirmishes between hubs and I. I started letting go and letting God very early in that cycle. Detaching now. Yes, Dear, you are right. I am wrong. May we change the subject now? I believe that staying on my side of the in-law hyphen and only going there as spouse-support has worked nicely. It is not mine to sort. Gentle support while YOU sort, my love. I am here, if you need me. I packed a busy bag to pass the hours if you don't need me. I thank my peer support network for the lessons and practice in how to accomplish that one.
When the hours of commerce commenced, we enjoyed an eager start to the exploration of the new-to-us town. Yes, I have been here two months now and have a long-term relationship with its place in the in-land delta region, but it sure feels different here in my second vested week in the neighborhood. I still have much to discover. I got to tour one of the items on my to-see list while hubs established his first tea connesiur contact. I toured the historic Old Coca-cola plant while hubs talked tea with the proprietor of a tea shop housed within. The architecture is pretty amazing, as are the restoration efforts. Well done, folks!
The scenery wasnae so interesting during the visit to the bee biz. The bee barn sits in the boom sector of town. Watching such treasures be swallowed by the latest greatest wasnae my favorite part of my decades in Texas. I was nearly asleep in the back of the truck before Hubs was finished picking the brain of the proprietor who was manning the store. It is a family operation with more than one proprietor. The senior proprietor was at the counter yesterday and romantic logics would have me wonder if I need to worry about the competition for my man. The two of them verily glowed during as they talked. Yes, I was fully welcome to participate, but my bee passion isnae that great. I was able to nod off while they talked, after all. I told Hubs he could keep his apology when he found me in the back of the truck. It looked like a meeting of great minds and don't EVER apologize for that one. Trust me to let you know if I have a problem with napping while you yap. Naps are good.
Is it regrettable that I never really woke up? Not so far, but Hubs is still sleeping. It is now around the same time I usually awake and begin my wake up ritual. My wife sense says Hubs is already awake and wondering if he is welcome to interrupt. Staying mindful of the dangers of AssUmption, think I'll go rattle that cage.

sounds like harmony on the sheet music for today... strum and hum or roll with the stroll
