Virus Time
July 18, 2008 – 11:20 A.M. There are no major events happening in my life, which is good. I have somehow managed to get a virus, as have two of the people who help me. I am having cramps, and feel like someone is stabbing me in the stomach with a knife. This has lasted more than twenty-four hours. I do not know how much longer it will last, but I would like it to leave soon. Last night, my sister called to tell me that the person she “supposedly” loves has just been diagnosed as having Parkinson’s disease. I am trying to be as supportive as possible, but it is very difficult since I never liked him to start with. I sent my brother an email to tell him what was happening. I kept the email short because I knew that if it was too long, I might blast my brother about the way he has treated me. When my CNAs put me to bed last night, I spoke to them about “slamming” me onto the bed. The main culprit smiled as though it was a big joke, and then said it was kind of hard not to do it. I got absolutely nowhere with her. I will talk with my home healthcare nurse again next week, and if she cannot do something about this, I will probably need to call their Director of Nursing. Hope you feel better soon hugs-Stephanie
lots of hugs to you !!! I am sorry you feel bad, that stinks! I hope you start feeling better soon, if not you need to go to the hospital!!!!!
Call now. She smirked? She shouldn\'t be working there. ARGH.
Okay, deep breaths. I want to slam this woman down, Jim. Hard. I believe in revenge as a way to teach those who don\'t LISTEN.
Is it difficult for you to communicate with them? I met a woman with CP today and it was very difficult for me to understand her. She was stuck in the middle of the store while her aide shopped for clothing. I told her she looked bored. She was trying to either get away from me or talk to me. I was nervous that I had scared her by getting to close.
I wouldn\'t mind writing this CNA a letter on your behalf.
\"Dear Bitchface,
If you slam my friend Jim down one more time, I will call the police and help Jim to press charges against you. That is physical abuse. Physical abuse is a crime.
I am still not feeling well tonight. My best CNA was here to give me dinner (which I was unable to eat). We both feel ill, and seem to have the exact same symptoms. If I do not feel better by Monday, I will call my doctor\'s office. I am \"allergic\" to hospitals except for extreme emergencies, and I don\'t think this falls into one of those.
I have tried calling my home health care agency, but it is closed until Monday. They apparently don\'t even have an on-call person. I need to talk with them about the \"smirking\" CNA. I don\'t think she is going to discontinue giving me \"body slams,\" so I am thinking about having her replaced. We get along along other than that, but I am fearful that my back will not get any better as long as she imitates a Sumo wrestler.
Sam, I don\'t have any trouble communicating with anyone. My main problem is that I have a terrible fear of confrontations, which I think goes back to some of the abuse I had as a child. Some things seem to last forever.
Well, I can imagine that having to rely on others would contribute to the fear of confrontations, too. I am so glad you are dealing with this and not just taking it, Jim. Let me know if I can help in any way.
