Virus Time
July 18, 2008 – 11:20 A.M. There are no major events happening in my life, which is good. I have somehow managed to get a virus, as have two of the people who help me. I am having cramps, and feel like someone is stabbing me in the stomach with a knife. This has lasted more than twenty-four hours. I do not know how much longer it will last, but I would like it to leave soon. Last night, my sister called to tell me that the person she “supposedly” loves has just been diagnosed as having Parkinson’s disease. I am trying to be as supportive as possible, but it is very difficult since I never liked him to start with. I sent my brother an email to tell him what was happening. I kept the email short because I knew that if it was too long, I might blast my brother about the way he has treated me. When my CNAs put me to bed last night, I spoke to them about “slamming” me onto the bed. The main culprit smiled as though it was a big joke, and then said it was kind of hard not to do it. I got absolutely nowhere with her. I will talk with my home healthcare nurse again next week, and if she cannot do something about this, I will probably need to call their Director of Nursing.
