Violence Against Women Act
The Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) has brought the issue of domestic violence out of the shadows and served as an invaluable tool for those of us who investigate, prosecute and work every day to prevent domestic violence deaths. Yesterday’s vote by Congress to reauthorize this important legislation is a victory for women, families and communities across Kentucky and the nation.

Indeed, but Tabs, many in our Congress didn\'t want to pass it. And, many in the Senate were against it. They didn\'t think the money should be expended to it because it wasn\'t that worthy in the \"spending budget\" allowance. How sad it is that there are those in our Congress and Senate, who cannot seem to move past politics to work together to lead this great nation of ours and our people, they cannot seem to compromise for the betterment of society as a whole. Our government seems \"stuck\" in rhetoric for the worst time I\'ve ever seen in my life. I\'ve never seen it so stalemated in our government. But, who knows, come next election, we can try again and see if there is any improvement to the situation. I am glad that our own Rand Paul had the guts to stand against the appointment to CIA, John Brennen, in opposition to the governments power to use the \"drones\" against our citizens, at will, by the government. There was a need to clarify that executive authorization, and by jove, Paul got it done. That took guts. But, you know here in Kentucky, we are known to be a \"gutsy\" people. hee hee
