Vet results

Well, the vet results:  keep her on the antibiotics.  She may have kidney stones.  We have to wait and see if this clears and if not, have to do ultrasound to see if kidney stones.  Her urine is VERY strong (bowls you over from ammonia smell).  So dr says to give her vitamin C twice a day 500 mg to offset the basic of the urine with the acid from the vitamin C.  The food we give her has a special PH in it but not enough.  The crystals are like what humans get when they get kidney stones.  I guess calcium deposits  I guess some people are more prone to this than others and the same with dogs.  (Although I never heard of dogs getting kidney stones before.)  But I do know a lot of people who's dogs are on prescription dog food.  Not much else we can do at this point.  She seems to get bladder infections once every 8-9 months.  she is a female, which females are more prone to this due to wider urethra and low squatting to ground and also the crystals and ph being off.  this just may be something we contend with once/twice a year for the rest of her life.  My poor little baby!  But I would not trade her for all the money in the world. 
 
She is eating and happy and wagging her tail and in spite of what must surely be the constant urge to pee, she hasn't had a single accident in the house (except for last week at the onset when Paul slept in.) 
Food isn't bad the last few days and have been drinking a little more water the last few days.  Back to getting on Fitday every day.  6 days in a row over 10k steps (2 of which were over 12k.)  Praying for at least another 1 1/2 lbs this week down. 
I am on emergency pager duty for after hours this week, Monday to Monday.  Hard to sleep when you are waiting for a pager to go off.  no pages last night.  Thank God.  Makes it hard to go anywhere.  We are expecting another 4-8 inches of snow starting around 5pm tonight and snowing all night.
