Vestibular migraine - dizziness, vertigo ...
I’ve been dealing with recurrent vestibular migraines for about twenty years. They worsened about four years ago and it is one of the reasons why I quit working.
I take pizotifen which helps. This med has also caused me to gain weight. So I am bigger than I have ever been. It also makes me have vivid (but not bad) dreams. Over time, the attacks have decreased a lot. For example, over summer (Dec-Feb), there were none. I had three in the first week of March and none since then. Not perfect, but nowhere near as bad as they used to be.
Changing seasons seems to be an issue; I only recently identified this. I am also triggered if I’m not hydrated enough, stressed, tired or exposed to too much motion (e.g. railway stations are a hazard). I’ve had three falls: once downstairs and twice flat on my face.
In addition to the meds, I try to be mindful of the triggers. I'm sure that has been part of gaining something like stability.
