Very worried
My middle guy, J, has come down with a very,very bad case of strep. He's on antibiotics but not the strongest he needs because he's allergic to what would speed up the process. His throat is so bad that he can't even talk and barely drink anything. He's on Vicodin for his pain but it isn't helping enough. As gross as this sounds, he had to have the pus on the back of his throat cut out which may be part of the reason for the pain meds. He's been on the couch for the past 3 days except to go to the bathroom and bed. I just asked him if he would be willing to go to the hospital and he didn't say no ~ only that he needed to sleep first. I'm worried. I think he needs some IV's, something for the mucus that he can't get rid of in the back of his throat, and maybe a shot of an antibiotic or something stronger for his pain. Keeping on eye on him.......

Sounds awful. I hope he\'s OK. You may be right about the IV. When they can\'t drink, it makes them feel much worse.
My daughter used to get strep a lot. She had it 7 times in three months. Eventually she got her tonsils out and that took care of the problem. She has barely been sick since. There was a time that she was so sick that she became dehydrated and needed an IV. She was nearly back to normal within hours. You are all in my prayers.
