Very hard day
I had an AWEFUL day at work. Very upsetting.
I had a ROUGH day at work. Difficult customers, both in person and some irate ones on the phone. Had a confrontation with one of the assistant Store managers over a situation with giving a customer a dishwasher we happened to have in the store. I was waiting on a customer and a manager of the customer service dept (my manager when I am up greeting) told me to bring down a dishwasher for a customer who was waiting with a flatbed cart. Well I had to get someone from another dept who has a lift license to get the lift and bring down the dishwasher. Then the ASM comes over to me later with an accusatory tone and asks me if I sold a dishwasher to a woman. And I'm like I didn't know what he was talking about, because I sold it to a man. So I was trying to figure out if we were talking about the same order. I told him about how that situation turned out. the customer wanted a Stainless Steel dishwasher and the one we came her was white (apparently the guy was just picking it up for her) I had no idea, I was just following the orders of my immediate boss. I don't know what happened after that, because when I mentioned the manager's name who told me to grab the dishwasher for a customer the ASM left. They were trying to rectify the situation for a customer. It is impossible to find a Stainless Steel appliance in stores. they are in a warehouse that we place orders to.
After that incident I had a difficult order with a woman who had gotten a quote for 8 appliances and it was done on July 9th during the 4th of July sale time. The last day of that sale was July 15th. So of course she wasn't getting those prices. To make a long story short. I ended up having to get a manager over, the computers were going SO slow. I had to move to another computer to try to get the order in, Manager came over and had to fix the prices so they reflected the sale prices. This incident happened at the end of the day, and I was hoping to get out of there when my shift ended Luckily it got done in time. But my stomach was in knots. Every time I go into that place with a positive outlook it gets shot down after I clock in by something. I went to HR and asked for a transfer to another store, one that is closer to home. I already spoke to a manager over there to start the process, and this is another step. In the meantime I will be putting into other places. I want to be out of this store, and Home Depot entirely (hopefully) by next month. I've had enough.
