Venting
Hello, I wrote this to vent. I'm taking an English class about English literature like Romanticism and the Victorian period. I recently got more than one zero grade. Before I get into details, I admit that it was all my fault and that's not coming from self-loathing. During the beginning of the semester the class was told that they were going to have to do presentations. I was assigned one at a certain date like everyone else. I wrote down the date when I have to do the presentation.
The due date was Feb. 27 Thursday which was a couple of days from now I think. Yet, I always had a bad habit of procrastinating even to the point of affecting my education. So, I procrastinated and I forgot about my presentation regardless that I made a note of it. There will be more on that later. I also had a 1200-word paper due on that same day for the same class. I forgot about that paper, too. The paper had to be submitted online. There was a deadline for submitting the paper. The deadline was due exactly at the end of the day at 11:59 PM.
So, I was working on the paper at the last minute while still forgetting about the presentation. I only typed about 650 words, I think. Then, I remembered the presentation. I worked on that at the last minute, too. I was taking too long. I was running late for class. When made it to the campus, I looked at the time. There was less 10 minutes of class left. I didn't see the point of coming to class that late.
Besides, my professor didn't want students arriving at his class so late. That's fair. So, that's one zero for my presentation. So, I drove to the campus for nothing. I went back home and got back to work on my paper. Again, I was taking too long. I tried to submit it online, but I was a couple of minutes too late.
It was midnight. That means technically it was the next day. I was unable to submit it online. That means I got a second zero. Also, the professor gives extra points to students who (or whom I'm not sure) come to class and participate in a discussion about the reading assignments for that day. They're called participation points. I could've used those, but I was too late to get to class.
That's also my fault. So, that's another zero for zero participation points. That means I got three zeros in one day all because I allowed my procrastination to get out of hand. Well, I've been doing pretty poorly lately. I bought a jar of sleeping pills from Walgreens and I planned on killing myself with an overdose. I wrote a poorly-made suicide note. The pills were going to paralyze me instead of kill me anyway. I chickened out and called the suicide hotline. Anyway, I deserved those F's. I wanted to get this off of my chest and get this out of head so I can be focused to do my homework. Thank you for listening if you made it this far.
