using cola to settle my stomach from new meds//dinner at k's//new people at work

still need to stop at the hope store and make sure the supervisor there is okay.  she was having foot troubles and that can be a sign of a stroke.  the guy at the register was like, noooo, and i'm thinking.  right, IGNORE the sign instead of playing it safe and going to the hospital or doctor.  what a jerk.  last year, another woman there died for no reason.  very odd because it was her husband who was sick and in a nursing home and then all of a sudden she was missing and found a couple of days later.  i think she was 57.  i used to talk to her all the time because she had done a study abroad while in college and was hoping to do another one before it was too late (healthwise).  (me too, i want that too).

hope all is well at the hope store.  also similar to our office up north, we have someone die every two years.  don't even like counting those up at all because its scary.  still haven't adapted to this stage of life at all even though everyone says to "expect" it after age 40.  i was talking to lawyers i know from down south recently, they were 40ish when i was about 23 and would often comment on how many people they knew who were gone and dead.  i never comprehended it if they said something like that or let each other know, if we were walking somewhere and ran into another lawyer.  40ish seems soooo old when you are 23 - like a million years away.

at work one new guy is working out and the other new guy is only working out part time and only barely.  he would be better off in a smaller or easier office.  i had to bark at him today (i HATE doing that) because he made major mistakes on a loan (did this same bunch of mistakes before and SUBMITTED it to the bank like that.  he says its one little thing.  no, actually it was FIVE little things and its not little.  i hated to be barking, but if you don't, they FORGET what you say like little kids, if you aren't yelling than it must be nothing.  grrrrr.  some people you can just write a post-it note and that is enough and you can tell they feel bad.  some will ARGUE with you.  AMAZING when that happens and its time to go -- for them to go, actually.  and some are listening the whole way through and WILL get it.  we'll see what happens.  this guy was such an ass, he seemed to think the BANK should change its policies.  hmmmm, don't think so.  why is it such a big deal....wtf?  hasn't he ever worked in an office before?

the other new guy is on the younger side and in college.  i told him to try physical therapy assistant as a major, as its a two year degree and really does pay $20 per hour, i've done mortgages, of a lot of people in that profession....you don't lose anything by having another certificate.  he'd still be a mortgage broker and he can still be a business major or minor in college ...  he actually switched majors.  nowadays i notice  stuff like that because of the letter from nick about thank you ms. evridge, i wrote it in one of my journals and having a life changing affect on another person when nick was getting ready for college.

amazes me when that happens and at least i notice that now.  In the 90's i didn't notice, back then i was just doing the right thing, kind of thing.
went to k's for dinner.  he and j seem to be attempting to have me lose weight by not making too much sweet stuff available.  very smart of both of them.  actually, the only thing that makes me thin is exercise.  i was reading that even in CHILDREN need 60 minutes of running around and exercise per day or they will become fat.  and kids are growing and the calories burn up and they still need to have all that exercise or they will get fat.  wonder how much running around an adult should do.  probably 3 or 4 hours.  really need to get to it.

we watched pbs on lewis and clark.  loved it, but there is another 2 hours to see of it.  i know NOTHING about lewis and clark and should look it up.  steven used to claim an ancestor of his went on that.  wonder if its written down.  as i KNOW he is the first generation to go to college, his father is a college grad but all the history stuff (and money) is from his mother's side - his father merely managed it well and made it into stable income, which her family really appreciated.  too bad he wasn't a better husband, boy is that family loaded with skeletons.  just peel the onion and it starts to reek.

k made stirfry with shrimp and also had shrimp cocktail.  peach smoothies with vodka for me and gin for him.  brownies with coconut.  amazing how many people like gin.
washed my car.  went to work.  shopped for animal supply.  saw iris and bda at the stores, that is a whole other soap opera.  talked to rn and e with new rescues.  wrote to a at summer camp (they have "accounts" nowadays, the modern version of mail call.  wow!  i'm old.)  wanted to go to timeshare and couldn't find the time.  also battling all this trouble with my upper back, i think a sport bra or bra with back support may be the answer, even though switching to a smaller purse helped a lot - any lifting over ten pounds is painful.   still eating leftovers from independence weekend.  saw w briefly to inquire about the auction.  he is having trouble with his hearing lately.  me too, actually, but i didn't mention it.  i can hear soft voice better than loud.  have no idea if that is normal for my age or not?   i'm not doing enough, but i have no choice until i get this medication stuff down.

Like usual sounds like you are still very busy. K\'s stirfry shrimp sounds so good. I hope the two of you can help each other to lose some weight.

Good Luck with those new hires too.

How are the mosquitoes up there?
