Used, Abused, Neglected and Rejected
I am getting ready to teach, in January "The Way of Mastery - Way of the Heart." I have studied this book for over two years and work daily at applying the principles (based a lot on A Course In Miracles)which I have studied for years.
In preparation, I read "Reactivity Indicates the Need for Self Forgiveness." Then it presents this Healing Exercise: Turn your awareness from what you think is causing the disturbance and remember the first axiom:
I am the source of my experience.
I am feeling disturbed,
What is it in me that needs to be healed?
Begin to breathe deeply and rhythmically. Let the body soften and relax, and ask:
What is it within this person's energy that is really causing my reaction?
You will see it right away. "Oh, they are critical. Criticism pushes my buttons."
Then ask yourself:
When have I done that to another?
When have I been critical of others?
And it might hit you right away. "Well, I am being critical because they're critical."
Or memories will come back, distasteful memories. if you are judging them. Let them come back. Continue to breathe and relax. Look upon that energy of being critical. Honor it. Love it. For it is a creation. It is your creations coming back to you that you might embrace them and transform them. Just stay with it. Look at it. "Ah, being critical, yes, I can sure be critical. I have been that way in the past. I know that energy very well."
Look upon a scene in your memory when you have been very critical. Look upon it with deep honesty and sincerity and say to yourself:
I forgive me for being critical.
I forgive my judgment of myself.
I choose to teach only Love.
There is much more, but here's the epiphany I had. The feelings I have with my daughter and her husband are: I feel used, abused, rejected and neglected. As I did this healing exercise, it came to me how I have used others and allowed others to use me, I have abused others and mainly I have abused myself by not forgiving myself. I have been very neglectful to others at times and rejected people.
I forgive myself for using and abusing people.
I forgive myself for neglecting and rejecting people.
I forgive myself for judging myself so harshly.
I choose to teach only Love.
What a gift this was to me this morning! A tough one to face; but healing.
Hugszzzzz to all!

Thanks!
It\'s beautiful. .Thank you for sharing Vicki xxx
Enjoy your class. What a wonderful blessing it is, a true healing opportunity you keep choosing over and over again :)
Admitting my character defects and Embracing them with love and non-judgment is a beautiful way to forgive myself...NO beating myself up. As I do this for myself, it makes it easier to become less judgmental of others. As I own my \'character defects\' and forgive myself for them, I am a lot less apt to PROJECT THEM OUTWARD! Thank-you all for being part of my healing. xo
Yes, Excellent teaching!
