Upset Squirrels
There may be some upset squirrels around the outside. I've been watching Kit digging in various spots around the yard. Its never very deep or big. Well, this morning I saw what he's been digging. Its pecans! Pecans that the squirrels have buried for winter. It explains the little holes I've seen when I walked around the yard. I don't have any pecan trees in my yard so they're bringing them in, figuring they're safe. They were until Kit. He must have a nose for the little nuts and finds them as well as the squirrels. Luckily, he doesn't eat them. He just plays with them like toys. Maybe the squirrels will find and rebury them. We have a new game to play. Well, I play it and he gets frustrated. He is always ready to jump in my lap when I sit in the recliner, making the jump even before I settle in. The new game is a guessing game. He has to guess when I'm going to sit down. I stand in front of the recliner and make motions like I'm going to sit down or just stand there. He gets ready to jump and there's no place to jump. He'll even go from one side to the other, but as long as I'm standing he's out of luck. When I finally sit down, I'm punished with an over abundance of licking and jumping around. The battle for the bed is getting better. Kit is learning that I can pretty much move him to any place on the bed and now he starts near me and adjusts to where I lie down. He still sleeps right next to me wherever it is.

Cute story! I can just see Kit now digging up those pecans the squirrels buried. My Daisy dog would eat them though. She eats anything and everything that isn\'t nailed down. One of her favorites is mud. She is the only dog I have ever seen that liked mud. Now that she has been sick, I watch her like a hawk, since she is on a strict diet now.
