Ups & Downs
A couple of health problems are gearing up. The eczema on my left hand refuses to go away and the right hand wants to get into the act too. The right isn't near as bad as the left, but bugs me none the less. It needs more attention than its getting. A more serious skin problem has sprung up on my right leg around the ankle. It started one night last week with a terrible itch which I scratched way too much. The next night the itch was back and I scratched again. Harder this time. The next morning the area was weeping,,,never a good sign, and mrsa came to mind,,,really never a good thing. No fever is involved, but there is pain that is mainly a bother, but can get my attention at times. Went to get my new diabetic shoes fitted yesterday and warned the girl about the problem. She put on gloves to check and recommended soaking the area with epsom salts. Did that this morning, then applied an antibiotic salve and covered it with gauze. The girl told me if I don't see improvement in a week to call them. I getting shoes with velcro instead of laces this time. It's getting harder to tie them with my right hand getting worse. Made a good trade this week. A woman who is fixing up the house next door came by Monday to ask a favor. The house has been vacant for several years and thieves have stolen all the metal in it,,,wiring, even plumbing. The house has been rewired and plumbing replaced and needed to be fumigated. The power hasn't been turned on yet, so she asked to use some of mine. In exchange, her son would mow my yards. The yards were mowed Monday and the exterminator used the power through a very long extension cord yesterday. I got the better end of the deal because he used less than 30 minutes. Kit keeps amazing me with his energy. He can run around the yard at breakneck speed and still bounce off the walls inside. Its getting to be a game about how fast he can get in my lap when I getting in the recliner. So far he's winning as he can make it before my butt hits the chair. He spends a lot of time with me in the chair, sometimes laying right in front of my face. A more loving dog, I've never seen.

Am sorry about the skin, hope it heals. The Epsom salts hope they work.Good luck with the shoes, that they fit and are comfortable.

I have a lap cat, so i know just what you mean.... she\'s sometimes jumping in my lap as i\'m sitting down, and will stay there all evening until i get ready for bed. I have shoes with velcro too as with my bad knees, it\'s hard to bend for extended amounts of time. I just had scope surgery on my right knee on Wednesday (same as you did a few years ago) and the Dr. said i had ALOT of arthritis in my knee... more then he\'d expect in a 46 years old. I\'m not surprised as several members of my family on my fathers side suffer from arthritis - as well as heart problems, though i haven\'t been painted with that brush yet, thank goodness.
