Updates & Well, Stuff I Guess
First, the cat shelter. It has been 2 wks & a few days since I filed the issue with the city. Last Wed when I went in I heard no rumblings or such abt anything but it had only been abt 1 wk. So my plan now is to see if I can pick up on anything tomorrow & if not then I dig super deep for courage to call the shelter owner.
I've always been totally non-confrontational so I don't know if anyone can totally understand how much I'm DREADING that phone call. Yet I feel like if I don't I'm letting the kitties down as they can't speak for themselves. I must not let my fear take control here & say things like "well maybe I'll wait a bit longer, maybe I'll see if anything will improve over the next while, etc. etc. etc.
Does it seem strange if as I sit here & re-read the above I feel like there's a part of me that needs me to follow thru with this to prove to myself that I'm capable of taking a strong stand. LOL.........Callie is sitting across my shoulders behind my neck & blowing in one ear LOL. Callie scarves are really toasty warm.
I recently saw my diabetes dr. When I go I have to take abt a wks worth of recorded blood sugar tests. Yikes, I so did not want to go & show him my really not good blood sugar levels. I had way too many erratic highs & more dangerously erratic lows. Well he's very concerned but yet not sure how we're going to approach this whole thing. I think at some point I told him that yes sometimes it was just careless carb counting but that I didn't think that totally was to blame. Somehow also talk of prednisone came into the conversation & thats when things got interesting. He told me that extensive time on & off prednisone can really do a number on the adrenal glands. When on pred I think he said it sort of puts the glands to sleep sort of & that after a time off pred they shd readjust but sometimes they just stay sort of off balance. It could be causing me to be insulin sensitive. So we're not taking any steps in adjusting insulin dosages or diet until we see where this goes. So on that note this morning I had to go for a blood work up on my adrenal function. My dr's office assistant said that if anything shows up she'd call me & the lab said the test shd go thru within 3 to 5 days.
Another tidbit of my life. Last Thurs evening I had a soft item of food in my mouth & in chewing could all of a sudden feel OK, somethings not right here so I spit it out. Darn if I didn't break a tooth off at the gum line. So off to the dentist the next morning & he told me it was a capped tooth & that what happens sometimes is cracks can happen & they don't show up on x-rays & it just gave way. So the rest of it will need to come out. He said he can't do it in his office & I wanted that same oral surgeon I've had twice over a number of yrs now. He asked if I stay awake for it, LOL LOL, I said no, not in this life time, negative, wake me up when it's over. So that will be another event coming up in I hope the near future. I'm just waiting to hear fr them.
A couple of wks back my lupus vasculitis rash was appearing on my lower legs so I went back to my weekly medthotrexate injection (don't tell my dr I tried stopping for a bit & was doing fine till Christmas). I take this injection every Sat a.m. & within a day and a half the rash starts to fade but by a day before injection time again it starts to show it's face again. I'm not pushing any panic buttons & calling my rheumy cause I'm going to work this out on my own. I see my rheumy the beginning of April anyway.
So on this note I feel I've probably laid enough out for now.
Take care all my friends, you're all so important to me.

HI Kitty, thanks for sharing your news with us. Alot of news! Firstly, yes, the kitties need your voice but do what you\'re comfortable with too. You\'ll know in your heart.
The diabetes and lupus must keep you on your toes, watching, diagnosing and assessing. I pray that you get less stress and relief from these worries. Wish God could just take them away from you.
Funny about the tooth! I had one like that, then Doc capped it, instead of pulling it, no worries. As soon as I\'m OFF a dental plan, wham, it breaks. So, it\'s still there, no pain but a little jagged, wisdom tooth top right.... what do you do.
So, keep your journals coming and more often. We\'re here to listen, support, acknowledge, you know. You are very important to us too.
XO
I hate confrontation too. I would hope it is due to the holidays, this slow response, but it is the 20Jan now. I wish people would just do the right thing, can you just imagine what our world would look like?
Sounds like you are taking good care of yourself, a chocolate spa? What does the chocolate do?
Well, HiHoHiHo It\'s off to work I go. Just not feeling the love haha.
Take good care Dear Friend :)
I think what you are feeling makes total sense to me. I really hate confrontation too. Even when I know I am doing the RIGHT thing, I\'ll come home and obsess about for DAYS. So, I know what you mean! If we choose our battles very wisely, and feel in the right, all we can do is take action and then pray that God help us with the after emotions, right?
That is so interesting about blood sugar and prednisone! I guess time will tell and sort it all out, but waiting sure is hard, especially when you have his and lows. I pray that this will stabilize for you! And, the tooth thing ... I know you just did NOT need that right now. Dental work is in that same category as buying new tires. A pain in the rear and hardly noticeable and expensive lol.
And then the rash. It does sound like your system is trying to level itself out a bit don\'t you think? I have a feeling things will calm down for you and you\'ll be feeling more like your old self soon. I surely hope so.
I\'m thinking of you and praying for you. hang in there!!! xoxo
WOW What else can happened to you? Some times we need to do things we don\'t like to but you have such a nice way of handling things that it will be ok to call. Like you said the kitties can\'t talk themselves. Please let me know how that call works out.
So sorry to hear you have had such a ruff time this past few weeks. That rash seems to keep coming back. Isn\'t there a cure for that? And then the tooth thing you poor baby been through enough I\'d say. You are always on my mind and in my prayers. Please take care yourself.
Love , Frieda xoxoxo
