Updates galore!

22Mar14 (2nd day of spring!)
Sorry to be gone so long (I'm still here Troy and here's my flare! :)).
Hey all my wonderful ones,
So here's a quickie (for me at least!).  You all probably know I had the neuromodulator thingie in the spine on Halloween last fall and that didn't work.  I then had a spinal tap and test of a pain pump on Nov 20/21 (my bay is 21st!), then on Dec 13th I had the BIG surgery.  They installed in me (like in a car) a HUGE 4.5 by 1.5 in metal canister (looks like you could take a nip of some liquor out of it!) weighing 6 lbs in my left front side.  They did some nasty (I don't want to think about it) thing to make room for the catheter along my left side (it's raised so you can see the line all along my side - ick!) to bottomish of my spine.  Then they wove the catheter up the spine to between my shoulder blades, where they drilled holes to secure it.

I have to admit, I really do feel like a BORG!  It's such a strange feeling having this hard metal lump that's so heavy in your side.  I'm looking for a good name for it.  Any ideas?  The pain pump works really well on my daily pain, so that was AWESOME!  Sadly, I am in another pancreatic (/liver/kidney) flare up right now and may have to go NPO in the hospital.  I'm trying to avoid that tho.

Today, I got this lovely steroid shot in my lower lumbar where, figures, 2 vertebrae are sliding around (don't know what happened to the disk).  Along with the fun cramps you get with the shot, my pancreas let everyone know it was NOT happy being laid on (had to lay on my stomach).  But I had them all laughing anyways, so that's ok.  My back feels better for now but I'll most likely have to get those 2 vertebrae fused in the future.

Well, there's more but I can't even write it.  I'm exhausted!  Poor Matt is still stressed way too much despite being able to hang with his buds.  I need to flick him or something when he starts worrying!  Where did the phrase worry wort come from anyways?

I was thinking.  I'm sending you all these riveting updates and I think you all should send me one!   When you can.  Once a month, once a season, once a year?  I just want to know how you all are faring too!  Love you and happy happy spring!  Nibs ;)
