Update: Well, I over-reacted.

I called my son this morning - when I explained what was going on with my dog, he was in full agreement - and then told me he's got the flu.   So I'm going to have to call my friend after all to cover for him.   I did worry him a bit as well, he's worried that my granddaughter might be in danger - but I reassured him that nope, Bear LOVES Paige and wants to protect her.... it's just men he has issues with and I just need to work with him on that.  So we're going to get together and work on that at a future time....
I was talking to a friend about it this morning - he said that if I'm still grieving, my dog is probably picking up on it and thinking he needs to protect me too.   And so I went to the dog park this morning, and yep, Bear began to protect me around another new dog.   So, my friend offered suggestions on how to re-establish being the ALPHA again.   Got home at lunch and started doing it, and Bear immediately noticed...   Time to get that grief door SHUT.
I'm excited for tomorrow... picking up the trailer at 8am.   Can't go camping yet, but I'm going to put all my camping gear in, then start getting my garden ready in the back yard.   And yep, I'm planting LOTS of sunflowers, lol.    HUGE clean up day and who knows, I might just decide to have a rummage sale in the next few weeks too to get rid of some of the clutter.
Well, got nothing else to post about.... time to get back to work!   LATER!
