Update on Wife

Over the past 3 months, my wife has been wheelchair bound. She can not walk due to a fall she had in Nov. which caused the cancer to mastastisize to her left knee.  She did radiation to stop the cancer but, it did not work. This past Monday, she went through an ablasion where they injected ice into her knee where the cancer is, froze it, thawed it, froze it again and thawed it, to kill the cancer,   They then injected in laymens terms , cement into the void of the bone where the cancer was in the knee  She spent overnight in Barnes Hospital and came home the next day.  She is to have no weight bearing on that leg untill they ct scan it in 2 weeks.  If all is well, she can begin to have therapy to hopefully, walk again.  It has been a very tough 3 months.  I have had to basically do everything around the house beside helping her in and out of shower, bed, chair, on the commode, in the car for Dr. appts. and do all the driving,  We are praying this procedure works so she can walk.  She has lost down to 142 lbs. now and is very weak.  The past 3 years has taken a toll on her and on me.  We never dreamed when we got married 51 yrs. ago that we would be dealing with something like this but, we continue to do our best for her.

I’m so sorry you and your wife are going through this. It sounds incredibly exhausting and overwhelming. It's understandable that this has taken a toll on both of you. It sounds like doctors are doing everything possible to give her the best chance at regaining mobility. It's clear how deeply you care for her. Please make sure to take moments for yourself, whenever possible. You both are in my prayers. Hugs.
