Update on Recent Tests

Hi friends. I have received results back from several tests and saw my gastroenterologist. I am going for more tests and probable surgery in September and October. My results are in for the DXA Scan. I have osteopenia in my left thigh. Good news is that I'm okay in the spine and hip area. The DXA Scan needs at least two non fused sections of spine to scan. I had enough levels to  scan and they  were normal. I am being prescribed Fosamax for the osteopenia. Doctor says that osteopenia is far worse than osteoporosis. What I read on the internet doesn't give me the full picture of this condition. I did see some nasty pictures of what a repair to my femoral neck would look like. This is the narrow area on the thigh bone below the top ball part that goes into the hip socket. I will be doing whatever I can to prevent a fracture in this area. Doc says that the bone itself is thin. I may not be able to do a thing to help myself. I will take my calcium, walk daily, and take my Fosamax as prescribed. There is nothing else I can do.
As far as the Tummy doctor, I will have the procedure and go for my follow-up in two weeks post-op. That brings me to the middle of September. Depending upon the findings I can expect to be sent for further surgery per what my doctor recommended.
I know I could be receiving devastating diagnosis. These are things I do need to learn to live with but it won't kill me. There are beautiful, loving, wonderful people out there that deal with so much more than I do. I remember I am only given what God can use for His ultimate glory. I may cry sometimes over my losses and my pain but He is with me, knows all the details, knows my future. I must trust in Him.
I thank hippyone for praying with me on the phone today. Having such support on here helps me alot.

Sharing peace and comfort. I have gone to the Internet search before. Mine was to find microvascular ischemic disease in the periventricullar white matter of the brain. Very scary when every nerve in my cervical area has been set off by contrast dye. I had migraines for three weeks solid.

1. When we are in pain any Dx makes us more vulnerable
2. When our primary disease came out of the blue and slammed us we will always be hyper vigilant for anything else coming our way.

My experience has taught me one day, one step at a time. As someone who has a history of sexual and physical abuse I have always had a need to have control. No more. Now I have truly learned fight the battles I can win. It is hard to trust others. Above all we are the responsible party for our health so it is important to keep our eyes open.

The results of that brain MRI which was to rule out an aneurysm or tumor.
My doctor was on vacation so I had to live with any info I could find from the on the Internet sites. When my doctor got back I learned that this was not serious. Like a big tree that has a dead branch but the tree is alive. Confirmation from two of my other doctors.
