Update on my life
Dear Friends,
I have been with my parents since Saturday afternoon, Nov. 14. Drove a 6 hr schlep to their home. A week ago yesterday, mom severely injured her back and can barely walk....she's using a walker right now. See, my brother had to go out of town, so, caring for them was on me. So, last week, Wed, Thursday, Friday, I spent those days working, teaching, rescheduling students for this week, cancelling groups, cancelling appointments, and getting a water pump installed in my car, plus secure doggie day care for my pup, and pack. So, I haven't been able to really get into a routine since my husband's incarceration. Since Saturday, it's been gruelling physically. Ensuring that my dad got his medicine and that he eats nutritous meals, fixing mom's meals, plus all of her errands and retrieving items for her all over the house. Tomorrow's going to be fun-home health nurse comes to assess both parents individually, give mom a bath, change the sheets on both of her beds and make them, do my own laundry, and get ready to return to my home early Wednesday morning. The rest of this week is going to be exhausting as well, and I'm not sure if I'll be able to get on here until Friday night. This Saturday will be fun; I'll have the morning free, but then see hubby at 1pm, go to a funeral at 2pm, help with reception afterwards, then student recital at 6:30. Sheesh. No rest for the weary. Gonna see my chiro on Friday at 2pm.
I don't think it's coincidence that this family crisis comes just on the heals of my husband's incarceration. I've been so busy that I haven't had time to really get depressed. Thanksgiving is next week, and teaching will be lighter and I'm not going to travel!!!
When the days are full of activity, I don't get lonesome. It's the down time that is hard emotionally, but, I'm starting to acclimate. I'm able to correspond via email with my husband, so, that's wonderful. Father in law went to see him day before yesterday and he reports the he looks good and state of mind is sound.
I really need to get my violin out, but, there just hasn't been alot of time. When I return, I'll be working 4 hours a day for home health, then teach in the evenings. Gonna squeeze in some fiddle time tomorrow come hell or high water.
Thank you all for your messages of support and concern. I think of all of you out there and hope and pray that you are doing well.
Peace and blessings.
