Update on my life....
I realized that it has been quite some time since I wrote, so I guess that it is time to sit down and take some time to update everyone with our life.....
We just got done with a great week on spring break. It was nice getting away with DH and my in-laws for the week visiting DH's aunt and uncle. Didn't do anything- that was the beauty of it all!! I spent one entire day reading a book curled up on the couch. After spending the past four months working on the new house and then trying to get settled in- it was a much needed break! The best thing that happened on our first day of vacation- our realtor called and told us that we had an offer on our house! God works in miraculous ways, as we only had the house listed with a realtor for about three weeks. There are hundreds, and I am not exaggerating... HUNDREDS of homes for sale in and around the city that we live in, so to get an offer so soon- AMAZING! It is a God thing, that is for sure. The kicker is that it is actually a distant friend's girlfriend who is wanting to buy the house. Hopefully the home inspection goes well because they want to close by May 7th! That means we may have indeed paid our last mortgage payment for that house! Yeah!
We've been in the new house for almost a month and I LOVE it! I still lay in bed at night and feel like we are on vacation. We have a huge master bedroom and bathroom- with a HUGE bathtub. We learned on Friday that it does indeed fit two people! My favorite room however, is the nursery. It represents hope and when I am having a bad day I go upstairs and just sit in there and know that God is in control and truly has perfect timing. I wasn't sure if having to have the crib up and nursery ready for a placement would make things harder or not on my bad days, but I have found it really is my place to sit and be reassured that God has a plan, and that in possibly a month or two we may have a child sleeping in that crib. Which brings me to our foster/adopt update. We are moving through the process of getting certified as a liscensed foster home and all of the adoption paperwork. Lots of interviews, lots of paperwork- but we are almost there. I have my individual interview to go and then we have our financial meeting with our caseworker, and then three pre-placement classes. Our worker continues to tell us that she hopes to have a child for placment this summer, to allow me time at home with the baby/child while I am on summer vacation. We have decided that we are open to sibling placements and also willing to take emergency placements if needed. Because we are looking for a child who is 0-2, and also preferably caucasion, she said that the more open we are the better. We realize we are at more of a risk, but we are okay with that. We know that God has a plan, and if that plan is for a baby to be in our home for a week or six months- so be it, but we also know that if God has a baby for us to be our "forever" child- He will make it happen.
As TTC goes- we are still trying, but last month was a flop. With all the hecticness (is that a word?) of moving last month we honestly only BD'd once. We put in long nights of moving and unpacking and typically fell into bed around midnight each night, exhausted. I did start progesterone last month as well- which made me crazy too. We did get our hopes up, however even with only one night of BDing- as AF didn't show up until day 31- when I am typically a 28 day girl. I also was very nauseous at night, and continue to be. There were a few nights that I had to sleep on the couch because I felt better sitting up. AF only lasted three days this month- which is also odd. The good thing- no clots and not bad cramping (sorry TMI). Because I still am nauseous on and off during the day and typically bad at night- plus my nipples have been killing me- I think I am calling my Dr. tomorrow. Last night I was miserable. We went to a wedding and had to leave early because I all of a sudden got real nauseous. When I got home I just was exhausted- fell into bed only to feel worse, and then had to take my shirt off because my shirt just killed me. DH thought I was getting fresh.... no luck for him though cause I almost started crying because I was just miserable. I am thinking it is a side effect of the progesterone from last month, as I haven't started taking it yet this month. Who knows....
I guess that is all.... the family relationship with DH's siblings is still terrible. They refused our invitation for them to come to Easter at our house, and last night at the wedding they all sat together and we sat on the other side of the room with DH's parents. When we first got to the reception we went up to them at the bar, said hello, and didn't even get a hello- they completely ignored us..... DH keeps telling me that it is his family, let him worry about and that I shouldn't be hurt by their actions.... we've fought a lot lately about them which really makes me resent them and their bitterness even more. Some days DH gets angry at them and wants to let them just be- but other days are hard for him because he hates that his family is so dysfunctional. I often wonder what it will be like when we get our placement or our BFP- will we call them, and more importantly- will they care?? I can't see them giving us any support when the time comes and that hurts more than anything...
Well, now that I got that off my chest, I think I am really done now with my update. Please pray for our placement, and for the child got is creating for us or has already created for us, and who may just be waiting for us to become their parents.
