Update on My Ex.

My daughter called today and they done a scan of some kind last night.  they found no cancer in her abdomen, lungs or liver.  The lung has been inflated and is functioning properly now but she is still having issues with fluid drainage from the tube she has in the lung area.  They haven't found what is causing that.  They have a heart monitor on her and they may call in a cardiologist tomorrow.
I will call my daughter later this evening after her Bible School and ask her to ask her mom of she wants me to or, would prefer me not to come see her.   My sister is still in the hospital and I will go see her tomorrow and I will visit my ex if I am permitted to.
This is very hard for me either way.  This is a woman who I helped as a little pregnant 15 year old girl.  She was pregnant by a 28 year old first cousin, who was married and had 5 children of his own.  This is a girl who grew into a woman who continued her lifestyle of sleeping with other men while we were married.  This is a woman who stabbed me, ran over me with a car, had her ex-lover cousin try to kill me.  This is the woman who loaded a gun, aimed it at me and pulled the trigger.  Thank God, she didn't know how to release the safety on the gun or I would have been shot or dead years ago.  This is the woman who told me she prayed for my death every time I left on my Harley because she said my insurance money was the only way that I would ever be worth anything to her.  This is the woman who said 3 words to me when our son was killed 5 years ago next month.  This is the woman who will pass me in an 8 ft hallway at the local nursing home and never speak.
In my heart, I feel I should go see her but, I will not infringe on her right to deny me to do so.  I will see what my daughter says later tonight.  We all make choices in life and with those choices, we sometimes face bitter consequences.  I do have her on my church prayer list.  I pray that God will speak to her and soften her hard heart that she has against me all these years.  It has been almost 38 years since we separated and in that 38 years, this woman has never had anything good to say about me or to me.

You have found it in yourself to forgive her and want to do the right thing by her. If she doesn\'t allow it, that\'s on her. I\'m sorry for all you are going through. Hugs and prayers!!

I winch back tears as I read your story of that woman\'s very toxic actions & bad attitude toward you. My heart goes out to you. Yet God has somehow given you the grace to forgive her. It is a testimony of your following Jesus--to forgive our enemies. See what your daughter has to say about this woman\'s openess to seeing you or not. I agree with toallychaotic 247 that if she doesn\'t allow it, that\'s on her. And that is the end of the situation. She is in God\'s hands.

Oldbker, I am very proud of you... You lived through some horrendous events and came out stronger for it and with a forgiving heart... Most people wouldn\'t even consider going to see her after all she has put you through, yet, true to your teachings, you are turning the other cheek and trying to give solace to a person in need...

What a wonderful person you are...
Bless you.
