Update and delivery story..... Finally!
Well, sweet Landon is almost 4 weeks old already. I am not sure how these 4 weeks have literally flown by! Life with baby is crazy busy, but amazing! Big Brother turned 19 months on February 9, and it seems the transition to big brother and almost being two has been rough on him and mommy and daddy! He loves his baby, but is having a hard time sharing the attention. He has learned that when I am nursing or pumping he can do almost anything because I am occupied. Somehow we were blessed with another great baby! He is a good sleeper at night and let's us me have 3-4 hours between feedings and usually eats and goes right to sleep. I still can't believe he grew inside of me, it is still a dream it seems! I am in awe everyday if my two miracles, one through adoption and now one biological.... God is so good. These boys were worth the 7 years we waited for them.
Now, my delivery story.... This too seems unbelievable... My DH gives me no sympathy because it seems too easy. I remind him that 7.5 years of emotional pain through infertility makes up for the lack of physical pain I had during labor and delivery! After starting contractions on Tuesday night into Wednesday, I stayed home from work. Contractions just about completely stopped around 9 Wednesday morning. Around 11, after a shower and a nap I realized I hadn't felt baby much that morning. I called my OB, but she doesn't work on Wednesdays, so I had to see a different OB. They hooked me up for a no stress test right away, and although I didn't feel a lot of movement, they were able to see baby was very active and doing well. I saw the doctor and she checked me, in which I was 2 cm and 100% effaced. She told me it was good progress from the week before and told me to keep my appointment with my OB for the following day. She suggested I ask my OB to strip my membranes to get things moving. Little did I know that wouldn't be necessary. As I drove home (yes, I drove myself) I had 4 contractions. I texted my husband and told him the contractions had started and were getting a little stronger. My parents had our little guy all day, so around dinner time they brought him home. My contractions weren't too bad, so I didn't really know if we would be going in or not. Around 8:00 my contractions were getting worse so I took a warm bath to help, which it really didn't. By this time they were varying between 3-5 minutes and I told DH I thought it was time to call the hospital. He thought I was over reacting and processed to watch tv and play games on his phone...I was not pleased. I realized at this point I didn't know who to actually call. After finding the hospital number I called and had to leave message for them to have a triage nurse call me back. I anxiously waited for a call, finally got the call, only to then have the nurse take more info so she could contact the OB on call and then call me back. By 10:30 we were at hospital and getting taking up to a room. The doctor I had seen at the clinic was the one on call, which was good I thought. When I was checked I had displayed to 3 cm, which I thought was good, but the doctor didn't think it was enough progress to keep me. I started crying because my contractions hurt and I couldn't imagine going back home. The doctor decided to start me on my antibiotic and have me walk the halls for the hour it would take for the IV to empty. She figured she would check me, and if not enough progress, send me home. Well, baby knew it was time, because after only 30 minutes of walking, the doctor came out of another delivery and told me to return to room and she would check me to see if there was any progress at all. Much to everyone's surprise I was already at 5 cm! My exact reaction, "you have to be kidding me! Now, call for my epidural!" Thankfully the nurse did right away, because once the doctor broke my water...OUCH... The pain got so bad I started to vomit. It was a miserable time waiting for the epidural to arrive, but when it arrived I wanted to kiss the doctor! The epidural was a lot better than people make it out to be, and once it started to work, amazing! An hour after they broke my water they checked me and I was already at 8 cm!! Holy cow! At this point I felt nothing... Heaven! An hour later I was almost 10, but not quite, so we waited another hour and I was ready to go! I wasn't feeling any contractions so they had to tell me when to push! I felt nothing while pushing, and only pushed an hour a half, but not the entire time even! It was surreal when Landon arrived because I honestly didn't feel any pain!! It was the most amazing feeling to hold my sweet miracle! Afterwards I felt great!! I wasn't tired, and my pain, despite stitches, my minimal. Honestly, it was an amazing delivery and yes, I already know I will do it again, God willing! The most painful part thus far... Breastfeeding!! I am not diving up, but it has been a challenge pain wise.
Well I better wrap up, the babies are stirring!!

Thanks fore sharing your story with us! So glad you had a good delivery experience! Omg I know isn\'t breastfeeding so painful? I was not prepared for that. It got a lot better at about six weeks I think, hang in there! Now it\'s the easiest and fastest thing ever!
Thanks so much for sharing your story! So glad delivery was great for you! I agree with the breastfeeding-it\'s been challenging to say the least. You are right in the throes- 4 weeks was the point where I wanted to just give up. Somehow, I pushed through- it does get easier and better. I\'m at 9.5 weeks of strictly nursing and we are doing great! Keep it up mama!
