Update and appreciation

 Hi all ,

It's been along time since I've been on the website is definitely improved and changed.  I went back and reviewed some of my old postings for perspective. What a bunch of hell.  Even though in my eyes recovery has been slow, it's been relatively fast.  My sons is in college ,he's now 20.he  hasn't talked to his mother for year and a half. she's never bothered to call and is somewhere in New Zealand doing prostitution and drugs .  The stepson three months ago got arrested for selling heroin, is now looking at two years in prison, I do not speak to him nor have I since the divorce or since the dog situation ( my past posts ).  My mother ,my father both are 85 ,I am now caregiving for my dad he's moved in,  is very sharp but very frail, mom is in assisted-living and I see both of them all the time.  I have been pursuing my art career now and I and several galleries in Los Angeles as well as Arizona and submitting to several galleries in New York.

Surprising after this long of a time more stuff pops up, and I was wondered why my mom side of the family on my dad side of the family never met my son ever.  And certain friends as well haven't been around and I have come to find out on December  seventh talking about Pearl Harbor with dad and bringing it up to find out that my ex wife threatened everyone over the years. She Told them lies of what I thought about them , though which was a complete lie, so they never bothered to come around or contact , letters I had written postcards for Christmas is that my relatives were supposed to get they never received and this is confirmed by talking to them. I'm now in contact with each and everyone of these relatives trying to move forward in a positive direction.  But knowing that my sons mother isolated him And that he grew up with no relatives  is mind blowing.   The stuff always Seems a pop up on the anniversary of her suicide attempt down the hell that my son and I went through.

I've tried the dating thing and that's crazy as well in his own right.

But I wanted to also thank you everyone on the site that supported me and back me during my time of crisis.  And even though I never met any of you, you were like my best friends and I've never forgotten that, I have always wondered how Everyone was doing with their own situations. A bunch of you said things like it will get better and I do believe that they would! but for those of you, just starting in a turmoil situation it does get better!

now that time is past and you hear people's horrible  stories ,  mind sorta takes a cake.

So I want to say thank you to everyone who supported me, I would love to hear a response or feedback on how you're doing

 Thank you Scott

Good to see you post and see that life is going on more-or-less better than before. I haven't been active here in years. I should look back, too, and see how far I've come. The 4th anniversary of my divorce is just a little over a month away...

Hi Scott - so great to hear from you! Your a good man for taking care of your aging parents. Not too many people would do that. I'm also glad that your reaching out to your family, but sorry that things happened the way they did for you with them. You can heal that, and you have already begun.

Things for me are great! I'm almost 6 years out (May of 2017). I've been doing a lot of traveling which I love and both my daughters are doing really well. Things are peaceful and happy. It truly does get better. I was just saying to someone yesterday, that you don't realize how bad things were until your out of it...and it's very good to hear that your doing so well too!

Things really do get better. God Bless you and I hope you have a very Merry Christmas!

At least u finally were able to understand why it seemed all the relatives had abandoned you and your son. Sounds like you have much catching up to do!! If the relatives you speak of don't live too terribly far away, maybe you could plan a family and friends reunion. If your son is resistant maybe you just make it happen without him knowing. You have a very large home,,everyone could bring something to eat or drink and voila, you would certainly find comfort in reconnecting with those who cared enough to make the effort to come.Your son might think he doesn't want to meet these people but family is very important and he deserves to know that he has one.The family he knows now sounds very limited (you, his grandma and grandpa). What if you were to die?His extended family would/could be of great comfort if god forbid, that happened..... and you would also benefit from making your best effort to right all of these wrongs. You are a proud father. Your son is your greatest accomplishment. Time to show him off and time to stop the isolation your ex wife wanted for you and him. Eventhough she is long gone it is strange how much control she still has over yours and your son's daily life.Time to take it back from her.Time is not on your side. Once your son has moved away from your home it might not be possible to do what I am suggesting. Make sure his girlfriend is aware so she can help to make sure he is there. I bet it will be a great healing for all involved.. It certainly cant hurt.Your son deserves to know that not everyone abandoned him.His mother did, but she is not everyone.Best of luck, you have come so far and dealt with so much (successfully) that this should be a piece of cake. The rewards will be many . Think about it.
